I went to the last Seattle one and was going to go to this one as well, but decided to hold off for something out East. I know a couple people who are going, though.

Okay, maybe don't answer that. :o

Now Rob, that face is still considered an answer.. And it's really not that awful - I technically walk everywhere in this town and the coffee shop has really good cupcakes.

I'm still hoping Ryan & Oasis do Wonderwall together. I have no idea if they'd be into it at all. But it would make my night if they did. Well, probably it would make my day tomorrow or something once it made it online.

Never liked Oasis to be frank, always found Noel to be kind of a prick, at least Ryan self-effaces and is hilarious.

But, that being said, go show!

(listening to Song For Keith again on Youtube, god, everyone listen to this shit, especially if you're a big Stones fan)

oh, I don't like either one of them as people, but I do like the music. I've always thought it would be interesting to hear them do it together, especially considering how highly they talked of the cover.

Play 'Be Here Now' from start to finish FFS!

I saw they played My Big Mouth. I don't know if that was at the warm up or an older show from the 2006 tour.

I agree, those are some tunes to bring back.

I Hope I Think I Know, MBM, D'YKWIM? AATW, IGB(M)! Bring back those jamz.

My Big Mouth was played last week, pretty annoying that they left it out on the proper tour. They played Headshrinker in 2005 too, but only the once.

Two new songs were great. Really digging that "I Fix It" song. Almost has kind of reggae feel to it over drumming really similiar to the recent live versions of "Off Broadway". Really good though. Cobwebs is pretty much what you'd expect if you've heard the versions of it from his blogs and such. Aside from those two songs not too many surprises. All the other songs were very much how they've been playing them since early 08. Oh the other real "change" is to "Easy Plateau". Someone else mentioned it from the show on Saturday so I guess RA's kind of digging it but at the end of the song it get's really chaotic and loud and RA basically yells "I want an easy plateau!!" for quite some time. It's not exactly pleasurable to the ears and as the other person mentioned about the Sat show it does come across as almost sad in it's craziness.

All of that being said, I loved it, had a great time, only stayed for a couple Oasis songs and then split. Wish I could of heard Evergreen or the other new songs RA and the Cards are playing. Guess I"ll have to try and get back to em later on in the tour.

Oh ya, pretty cool new shirts. I got the heartbeat into the cold roses logo one with tour info on the back. My girlfriend got some brown one with cold roses logo and they were selling a blue one with that new logo on it, "cardinology" on the back of it with the tour info. Expensive though. 35 for the shirt I got, 40 for the other two.

Thanks for posting it up dj ake, been waiting for a review;) I'm really curious to hear the I Fix It song... sounds like a good one:) Easy Plateau got really tragic/ intense/ screamy-sad at the Seattle show in January, too... is this different from that version? I's curious...

Also glad to know the t-shirts have gone up in cost... mental note to bring lots of cash to Madison!!!

Here's another review I snagged over at the RAA, posted by Tamarab...

Like I posted earlier this was only my 2nd show, the first being at the Paramount this last January (going to that cold, not knowing anything about who my date was taking me to see). So I don't have a lot of comparative context but I thought I'd throw my two cents in. I've listened to a ton of downloaded RA/RATC live shows, and that's not the same as being there of course, but I think I can add something to everyone else's reviews.

I left to use the facilities during the last Matt Costa song, and even without a line for the ladies room, when I came back the band was already into Off Broadway, so they must have started right after Costa left the stage, which would have been 7:30. I got back to my seat and felt simply electrified; the energy coming off the stage was palpable.

As people have mentioned, the whole set was really rocked out and very tight and there was a great sense of cohesiveness, I felt. They seemed like they were really enjoying themselves. Brad especially seemed (and this is just the vibe I got) like a man really happy to be back on the job (you know how time off is great, but when you love what you're doing, there's a joy to getting your hands and heart back into it, I've felt that way before anyway).

Ryan had promised 'more rock less talk' and that was pretty much the case, though there were two totally hilarious bits - one about whether bison exist, following a story that Ray from LH was gored by one while hunting in Alaska (most of that story apparently made up), and another, about how "anything more than 4 or 5 should just be called 'a lot'".

I thought the harmonies were especially beautiful for Cold Roses and Peaceful Valley, and I was really happy to hear Everybody Knows, because the Saturday Night Bedroom video with just Ryan on acoustic guitar is what really made me fall in love with his songwriting.

There was a lot of smiling from everyone on stage and great interplay between Neal and Ryan; at one point I think Ryan did something unexpected because Neal suddenly looked over at him like he was surprised but then nodded, like "I got it".

And it was a treat to see Jon playing rythym guitar (I'm sorry but I don't really know which guitar is which, so I can't say which one he picked up), and to see him out in front of the stage with his face up!

A security person had told me that Matt Costa was going to start at 6:30 and that RATC would play 7-8:30 but instead Costa came on at 7. I forgot to look at the time when the Cardinals left stage, but I'd guess just about exactly 8:30.

It was interesting knowing that the set was only going to be an hour or so. The songs never sounded rushed at all, but at the same time, if it wasn't for all the passion evident on stage, you could almost say it was workmanlike, probably just because of the discipline involved in playing for only a strict length of time. The only song that seemed sort of obligatory to me, without any extra energy, was Let it Ride. And the Easy Plateau at the end got really noisy, but (again I think because of the time constraint) didn't really go over the top sonically. I didn't expect it to have all the emotional energy that people reported from the Fillmore show; it wasn't perfunctory but I would say it did have more of a 'ok now we do the rock show' vibe as opposed to a 'wow this is insanely out of control' feeling.

The stage setting was just the lighting except for during a couple of songs - Cold Roses and Easy Plateau, maybe others though I can't recall - they had the starfield behind and it looked really cool as it changed colors with the music.

I was fortunate that even though I was in the 18th row, for most of the show there was no one sitting in the seats in front of me for three rows up. Hence I was able to take a bunch of video pretty easily, though I've never shot a concert before and didn't know how the camera was going to behave, and in a quick look last night, well, not very great video. But I'll post what I got after work tonight.

And yeah, the Oasis fans were kinda 'different'. The guy next to me pulled out his cellphone at least once or twice during every song and texted or something on it (for all I know he was texting the set list to someone, now that I think of it, but for some reason I think not). During Oh My God, some people came to find their seats in front of me and spent a great deal of time loudly figuring out what exact seats they had, even though there were 8 or 10 empty ones and they could have just sat down until the song was over. Later when Ryan was talking the guy yelled out 'Speak English Ryan' really loud. And yeah I left after the Cards. I don't know anything about Oasis but just wasn't interested and was exhausted and very hungry.

Overall I was super happy just to be seeing Ryan and the band live, and thought it was a musically wonderful and overall good show. Definitely looking forward to Boston and St. Louis though!

Ok that was a whole lot of words, hope nobody minds the long post. I wanted to say everything I could remember because I really liked the long detailed reviews from the Fillmore show.

Seems to me that t-shirts were running around $20 before.... I might be wrong, but that seems about what it was.

Rob

Yea I think $20 is the standard for concert shirts. Bigger bands charge $30.

Maybe it's because they are with Oasis?

ya, the breakdown was similar to how the seattle, january show went but it definitely got a little less spacey and much more frantic. especially the "i want an easy plateau" from RA. he was literally screaming it for a number of times. not saying good or bad, just . . . different, i guess.

The brown one was available at the Fillmore earlier in the night, but must've sold out because it wasn't on the wall anymore when we actually made purchases after the show. I remember that brown girls' one from last tour too. Rose has a stem on it, right?

The t-shirts at the Fillmore were a range of prices... I got a 29 one that was obviously older and I think it was $20 or $25. There were definitely some shirts at the Fillmore for $35 (some of the newer ones).

At the Oasis show were they selling the constellations one (came in brown and navy) or the 2006 one Alli was talking about? We also had leftover "Ryan Adams & The Cardinals Rock N Roll Gear" (or something like that) black t-shirts that said "New York City . Nashville . Jacksonville . Milky Way" that someone told me were from a previous tour...
