I saw on tv this morning protesters started burning a Chinese flag while Aboriginals where performing a smoke blessing (not sure what it's called) as part of the pre-relay events, and then shortly afterwards a man being arrested. Could that be a possible reason?

Could have been, although I suspect it was more to do with trying to break through the police line protecting the relay. Seven arrests made in the end; not really a big deal in a crowd of over 20,000. Oh, and the flame went out straight after Thorpie lit the cauldron :lol

How long have you been testing?

Quincy
04-28-2008, 02:04 PM
well i tested the bleach on my skin about 2 hours ago, washed it off after half an hour 40 minutes, because that's how long i'm going to keep the bleach in my hair.

Faded Rose
04-28-2008, 02:12 PM
If you're not allergic to any other things probably the worse that can happen is that you'll come out in a god almighty rash or your hair will fall out. I thought you were supposed to leave the test patch for 24 hours though... Oh fuck it - just do it. What shade of blond are you hoping for? Platinum or brassy like Ryan?

Quincy
04-28-2008, 02:18 PM
I think brassy, I don't want to be real blonde, and it's going to end up blue anyway, if the dye comes sometime.

Most fun I had in Boots though, asking for bleaching kits, and telling them I lost a bet and my hair is going to be blue.

maddiehope
04-28-2008, 02:36 PM
I'm still sloughing off skin after my vacation in which an over-chlorinated hot tub gave me a pretty obnoxious chemical burn, but that was after like three (drunken) hours, so I'm sure a mere 30-40 minutes shouldn't be too horrible.

And the worst that's happened to me is that I turned red and the dead skin is flaking off.

Good luck going blue, though Quince. I'm sure with an actual kit for bleaching your hair, you should be fine if the skin test turned out well.

littleamen
04-28-2008, 02:37 PM
Question. Will the blue dye actually work after bleaching? I know sometimes your hair wont take dye after it's been bleached.

Quincy
04-28-2008, 02:39 PM
The site said best results came with bleaching the hair, and as my hair is dark already the colouring wouldn't really show so much if it wasn't bleached.

Also, I think I need a comb to apply this, would a hairbrush be ok?

Faded Rose
04-28-2008, 02:51 PM
No - you have to comb it through to get proper coverage. Don't let it drip either. How long is your hair?

I have a thing later and I gotta get dolled up so I can sit around pretty like, procrastinate, and then possibly not go. but of course i’ll go. maybe. am i going? either way the hair goes blonde. thats that.

At your hair?
Look, to keep from frying your hair horribly, (I know you said you are going to shave it, but still) go with the absolute blondest women's hair dye you can get that is not bleach, it should work as well, and your hair will not break when you try to brush it. It can also keep you from getting that horrible over-bleached scalp rash, or really dry scalp that itches and stings. Believe me.

robotulism

The above post is aimed at Quincy.

Whats the reason?

If the store gets robbed, the clerk has to lock the door to;
1. keep out the media
2. take inventory of the entire store (even if the thief stole nothing from the aisles)
3. keep others from looting during the hoopla.

Also, it was on the east coast, and the governer ordered that all businesses be closed for this ice storm. So we locked the store up, then I had to come back and work anyway, because 7-11 said "that is not out policy, we are always open" so me being the closest one to the store, worked a 19 hour shift until the storm cleared, but it was good and busy, because the snow plow dudes needed food and to get gas, so it was a good time. That is a damn long explination, eh?
