Yeah, I guess I should not count my eggs before they hatch? Is that how the saying goes? Or I should not count my ducks in a row? Well, Whatever. I should not get my hopes up.

Urg, yes. Yes yes yes.

Rose and I have been voting for it since day one, and while I understand that some should have left before, you really think that any other of the remaining songs are worse? Really?

Yes! "Under Your Breath" always gets on my nerves a little. And "Carol Lynn" is a favorite of mine. Alas. :\

Me neither :(

I am glad I have some comroderie (no freaking idea how to spell that!) on this :)

robotulism
05-21-2008, 02:12 PM
I think that the engineer who did the sound has high frequency hearing loss, and you must also, if that harmonica noise at the beginning does not make you feel like your head is exploding.

Is that reason enough?

But I will get off the desk, only to return in a little less than five hours. (Actually, I kind of want it to not lose this time, so that Way votes for it at least once.)

Edit: also, I think it is comraderie. But, my firefox says its camaraderie, but comrades is not spelled like that. So, actually, who knows?

maddiehope
05-21-2008, 02:28 PM
Word says "camaraderie"

Word History: A comrade can be socially or politically close, a closeness that is found at the etymological heart of the word comrade. In Spanish the Latin word camara, with its Late Latin meaning "chamber, room," was retained, and the derivative camarada, with the sense "roommates, especially barrack mates," was formed. Camarada then came to have the general sense "companion." English borrowed the word from Spanish and French, English comrade being first recorded in the 16th century. The political sense of comrade, now associated with Communism, had its origin in the late-19th-century use of the word as a title by socialists and communists in order to avoid such forms of address as mister. This usage, which originated during the French Revolution, is first recorded in English in 1884.

I suppose the "a" just turned into an "o"

I hate when words don't look right like that. It irks me.

maddiehope
05-21-2008, 02:47 PM
Yeah, it doesn't look right at all. But it's probably an unconscious thing because we're used to words that suggest togetherness to have the "com" prefix/root, but then here's this one that has a round-about etymology and it doesn't sit right when we see it spelled out. I bet either the "cam" or "com" spelling are acceptable or are becoming more acceptable. I'm sure it'll eventually shift to the "comraderie" spelling.

And holy shit, I just revealed the essence of my geekitude. :box

Um, we all hang out on an internet forum, FYI.
I talk about it all the time with my flesh and blood friends. Not that you guys don't have flesh and blood, but I have never seen it.
I think we have all faced the fact that we "geekitude essence".

Comrade.

Comrade.

I would have never in my life spelled that word right, so I am glad I now know the correct spelling as well as the history behind it! :)

The sad thing is, I would eventually vote for Carol Lynn, because Bar Lights is my most fav, and so I suppose you win on that account. But only this once dammit!

Also, its not your flesh and blood friends, its your irl friends, because that is in real life. Not internet life. Get the lingo down. ha ;) Kidding. If we ever meet in our lives, I am gonna bleed all over you.

Wow. That was gross.:guitarsolo

It's not that bad. :P

And don't dis on the skills of Ethan Johns. He is the damn man.

robotulism
05-21-2008, 04:49 PM
High frequency hearing loss does not make you a bad person and you only think it is not that bad because you probably have it, too.

Oh, what now?!

And I like Ethan Johns just fine.

Finally. Jeez, I could not wait until that "Oh what now?!" took effect.

Okay, I won't . . . wait, I can't even finish that sentence because it would be a lie. I make fun of everyone, and everyone's mother, so sorry about that. You make it so easy with the open e-flirting. It is just a good time.

I can receive it as well as give it, I hope. I might freak out, but I will get over it.

Plus, you started it, saying it is not that bad.
