You know, I've been thinking about this point since I read it yesterday. That is very true. I know one person, okay, wait, two, who really really despise Ryan. But they are a guy I see kinda and my good friend's boyfriend. They hate him strictly because we love him so much, and he comes up amazingly in almost every conversation we have.

You're right, some people do see Ryan through rose-colored glasses. But the vast majority of his fans don't. There's also the concept of someone changing over time. I think the music and the writing Ryan's made available (officially released, unreleased or online) since he got sober justify a second look at his personality.
