what does everyone think of the new single?

just had a listen for the first time and im a bit indifferent. not really what i expect from them. doesnt really have any of Nick McCabe's trademark atmospheric guitar sound.

Agreed.

I think its a great RA single, but not a verve single.

Sit and Wonder and Rather be are much better.

I was really unsure of the single at first, but it's grown on me with more listens. I think it must be the backing vocals, it's made the song get stuck in my head. I've yet to hear Sit and Wonder and Rather Be, but I might check out them out on youtube later.

The Verve are to give away a free track following their headlining Glastonbury appearance this weekend (June 29).

The band, who close the Pyramid Stage, will release new track 'Mover' as a free download via Theverve.tv the day after their set (June 30).

The track is brand new, but will not appear on the band's forthcoming album 'Forth'.

This has now leaked. Listened to it today and I think its a really strong album, everything I could have wanted from the Verve. Its very ambient sounding, quite epic at times (naturally), some tracks remind me of Pink Floyd. No acoustic songs like 'Drugs Dont Work', which I think is a good thing, its pretty full on.

Anyone else have it?
