Some friends are planning to go and see this when it comes out in a couple of weeks. But the reviews from the US suggest a stinker. Anyone seen it?

No because all his other films were rubbish. Over hyped trash IMHO

I liked the Sixth Sense - probably because I was one of the few people who didn;t see the surprise ending coming. Doh. I agree about everything else though - Signs was one of the silliest films I ever seen.
I checked out some reviews on Rotten Tomatoes yesterday - everyone pretty much hates it.

Maybe if that's bad, I should go.....

nothing at all to be excited about....story was kinda sloppy and it was very slow

Its a kind of fairy tale storyline isn't it?

I didn;t like The Village (thought it was predictable), Unbreakable and I hated Signs. I suspect he might be a one hit wonder.

i never saw unbreakable...but signs was definitly really weak. Just the plot was too unoriginal to like at all. And the village i liked because i wasnt expecting the ending it at all...i think one of the few who didnt predict something like that would happen. And now i think that sixth sense is actually hurting his career because it sets the expectations so high

I actually laughed at the ending of Signs when that very lame alien thingo appeared. "Unbreakable" was okay, but nothing very spectacular, and again, I thought it just got silly towards the end.

What do you mean the ending of Signs was amazing, who would have thought that the fact they made such a point of the child putting glasses of water everywhere would be important. :D

I think you are right with the whole 1 hit wonder suggestion.
