Illinoise is by Sufjan Stevens, not Andrew Bird. :)
(Although I think you assumed we all knew that)

Andrew Bird is good. He loops his guitar (like Joseph Arthur does) and then plays violin solos etc. Very clever.

It's the fishie oils, Omega 3 or whatever. They're good for almost everything, but mainly for your emotional sensors & transmitters, and thus for everything concerning mr.David Ryan Adams and such.......;)

Oh, and I'm listening to The Drams (former singer of Slobberbone). Sounds a bit like Justin Timerthingie doing Slobberbone................

Spirit - Twelve Dreams Of Dr Sardonicus.

I've had this on vinyl since I was about 14 & always loved it. Saw it on CD in HMV's sale at the weekend for a fiver & snapped it up. I haven't listened to it for years & was surprised to find that I appreciate it even more today than I did in my youth!
A wonderful slice of Psychedelia from 1970 & a real classic I think.:upyours

Ha, you obviously don't spend enough time trawling the internet for unfounded gossip.

They started when she released 'World Without Tears" - there are a couple of songs referencing some brief affair that went haywire very quickly. I need to go check, but I'm sure there were a couple of lyrics that did seem to have a Ryan connection. She also admitted the songs were about a songwriter and in one interview, someone asked her a fairly innocent question about Ryan Adams and she gave a weirdly emotional answer.

Listening to a bunch of shows by Joni Mitchell ('74, '78 & '98) that my very dear friend in Nevada sent me & they are the best!!! Joni is just the queen.
If only I could have seen her live, my life would be complete but unfortunately she opted not to visit our shores after the early 70's. I was just a bit too young to be going to gigs then.
Anybody here ever get to see her & if so, how was it?

I still listen to his debut and Poses all the time. I think they're classic, perfectly realized albums. The Want albums are good too, imo, but definitely more hit and miss for me.

I couldn't agree more. Poses is one his very best - understated and yet emotionally overwhelming by turns. I will never tire of listening to it.
