Written in response to her divorce and recorded mostly in her apartment (you can hear ambulance sirens in the background at one point) this was a demo tape that so impressed the record company, they released it as a commercial album in 1996.
It's also one of my favourite albums ever - the lyrics are raw and emotional and Griffin's voice is haunting and powerful on every track. If you like female singer/songwriters with a touch of folk and plenty of attitude - you'll like this.
