Everyone should know what to do by now...

I can see that both Nobody Girl and New York, New York may be under threat this round. So, my strategy is to vote Wildflowers again this time and hope more people do as well.

i just really don't like this album, so my votes don't count.

In that case you should have voted for Wildflowers :upyours

There doesn't seem to be a lot of love for Gold amongst the RA fanbase, but I like it. Its certainly a cut above R n R for me anyway.

I like it too, and it's definitely above Rock n Roll for me as well.

When we get to R N R Survivor, the good news is that I won't have any trouble voting songs out. The bad news is I will have to listen to the whole album again to refresh my memory.

No disrespect intended to the people that enjoy the album. Its just not for me.

Same for me...There are some awful songs on that album, but some gems as well. I don't think you can deny So Alive or Anybody Want To Take Me Home as really well written tunes.

As for this round, I vote new york.

Personally, I just listen to albums and pick out song that i like and make playlists. Although, for gold i have to say new york new york is my least preferred. I love jacksonville city nights though.

Voting "Nobody Girl," but only to help save "Wildflowers."

So am I the only person here who loves RNR? I'll admit it's no Cold Roses or Love Is Hell, but it's still a hell of a lot of fun.

If Nobody Girl goes, I go.

Is this not a bit of a rash statement? Sorry but I voted for Nobody Girl.

It's not one of my favourite albums but better than RnR. It's like all Ryan albums (apart from 29) with a mixture of good, bad and the plain indifferent. It also depends on one's mood at the time of listening.

So, it's now 10 apiece ...

:upyours I'm surprised so many people are voting for Nobody Girl at this point. It's one of my top favorites on Gold. I do like Wildflowers too though.

I like Wildflowers too. I used to listen to Suicide Handbook so much that I forgot it was on Gold.

I'll be the dummy who doesn't know the obvious. Isn't Nobody Girl supposed to be about Winona Ryder?

I believe so, yes. I remember when I first read that I was like nooo. :lol I always prefer not knowing who songs are about. There's a few others about her as well, I believe.

I suspect that his demo version of "Saks Fifth Avenue Wants Their Stuff Back" might have been about Winona.

I'm guessing Movie Star Girl and Cry On Demand? The lyrics are pretty harsh on her.

Movie Star Girl and La Cienega Just Smiled, if I recall correctly. Cry on Demand I believe is as well, but I'm not positive. I think there's another one too, but I'm blanking...

The Bar is A Beautiful Place is about her for sure.

So hey there, Miss Samuels
Hey Laura, I'm thinking of you
Would you take an old drunk as-is
If he was sweet to you
And tomorrow, you'll probably give up on me
I won't blame you, hell I'll celebrate
'Cause despite anything you may have said to me
The bar is a beautiful place

Miss Samuels was originally Miss Horowitz. Which is Ryder's real last name according to Google.

Interesting.
I read that about her surname some time ago in a magazine, that's the line in Movie Star Girl "It's not even her name that everyone shouts".

In the dialect of the Sioux Indians, Winona means "first born daughter".

It's okay, I'm leaving this thread now. :upyours

You're being pedantic. I take the comment back OK? It's a common expression in England as a reaction to not getting your own way (I suppose you knew that tho). ;)

In the event of a tie I throw my rattle at TBY because I have to make a tiebreaker poll. If the tiebreaker poll is also tied then it becomes a countback to see which song has collected the most votes in previous rounds.

Hmmm...that could be either incredibly problematic or rather annoying.

The countback is not ideal, but its probably the only fair solution to a deadlock.
