After reading many reviews and forums, I think the consensus is that Halloweenhead is somewhat of the sinker on the album.

I personally disagree. I think the song and even the idea of the song ("guitar solo!") is such classic Ryan Adams, that it makes it even more brilliant.

Anyone else??

I really like it. I know some people aren't crazy about it, although we had a poll on TBY about it and most people on here liked it. Here's the poll:

If it's taken as a joke, it's a good one.

It made me laugh. If the harmonies on the chorus don't scream Journey, I don't know what does...besides a Journey song.

I heard a cover band do it on last sat night, the record only came out that day so it must have made a pretty big impression on them. Personally I hated it at first, it's that sort of self deprecating song writing that can go horribly wrong, but luckily Ryan is one of the few that can pull it off. Strangley its starting to grow on me, especially the guitar solo!

I dig it. I don't know if I like it on it's own or because it lifts the album after three pretty slow (but good) tunes.

On it's own I'd say it's a pretty inventive lyric with a great tune. It doesn't rank as one of my fave RA songs, but ET would be much less intersting without it.

I got the complete opposite impression of the reviews I read; I think people know it's silly and weird, but still think it's catcy and fun.

I hated the early versions of it live, but after seeing the odd video with the people dancing, it grew on me with the catchy chorus and general sillyness.

I think it's a fun song and isn't he just sending himself up with it? That's the way I hear it - he's poking fun at himself.

ace, anything which mentions chips and cheese is a great song...

Fun is good, imo.

btw, in Rolling Stone (Aussie July issue), Halloween Head is listed as "Must Have".

I don't think there are chips and cheese involved. I'm pretty sure it's "tricks and treats."

Not that i have anything against chips OR cheese. Just saying.

It's a funny song and a fun song. Not one of my favorites from Easy Tiger though. My friend Stephanie absolutely loves it though.
