Ryan Adams shows normally end badly when the bar is loud. I wonder if he called anyone out?

Hopefully we can get some reviews later on. The setlist is fantastic, although again, short.

Review from the winnow
TLA was packed to the gills. He heard 1100 people got in.
The crowd was majorly sucky and was calling Ryan a pussy/wimp because of his injury. The band said goodnight and left the stage abruptly.
Brad was still playing half-kit.
This evening was 100% electric for all players.
More colors in the lighting...reds, blues, greens and yellows and brighter.
The band sat for the whole show with Ryan having to stand to change pedal settings.

And another one.....
I just got back ... It was a great show, just ended a little abruptly. The band was definitely on tonight; Ryan was able to warm his hand back up and it seemed like he was in his zone playing. They finished with one of the best versions of I See Monsters I've heard and everyone was into it... but, then "Thanks Philly, take care of yourselves." ... I waited around for something to happen (Ryan on acoustic?) but they quickly tore down the stage and the workers booted us all. At lease we got a free poster on the way out... Overall, I would say it was great, but I WANTED MORE!

i would love to write a review of tonights show but unfortunately, i didnt even get in. i bought two tickets from an online tix company that were apparently reprints, so box office said sorry, no show for you tonight. and at $90 a piece im even more furious, cant believe i missed such a great show!
the only good part was we could hear the entire show pretty clear from the ally behind the TLA. so a very sad me stood in the rain til the show ended. i could tell even from outside he was back on guitar, nice.
so if any kind souls have pics or recordings, please post them so i can stop being so sad about my sh*tty luck. glad the rest of you enjoyed!

That's terrible. I'm sorry you had such a shitty night. Hopefully we can get some good pix from the show.

another comment:
To put a new perspective on this, I think Ryan was just in a pissy mood tonight. The show started half an hour past 9, which wasn't supposed to happen if the intro music was any indicator, he didn't speak much and he booked it right away. I've seen/head enough Ryan shows to at least entertain that as a possibility. I met Mr. Casal after the show (again!) and he actually apologized for the short set, but wouldn't elaborate when I asked what was up. Another sign?
With that being said, tonight absolutely blew me away. The volume was actually turned up halfway through the set and the Cardinals were on fire the entire night. And that setlist? It really doesn't get any better than that. Normally, I'd be totally upset that the show ended just like that, but after the combo of "Blue Hotel" and "I See Monsters", my God, I'm still in awe. Totally flawless.
Regarding the "pussy" and "wimp" comments, I only ever heard them after the house lights went up. Then you had a lot of people screaming "RYAN ADAMS IS A DICK!" at the top of their lungs on South Street. Charming.

Aw, I'm sorry. :( I'm sure someone will post some pics and it seems likely a recording will surface as well.

i think the show tonight was shitty. my first ryan adams show and i was expecting so much more. sometimes i think you diehards are just lying to yourselves. is easy tiger all that great? does a few good songs make up for a cut set? i don't think so. ryan adams has always been an example of integrity. if he thinks he can charge thirty five dollars a ticket and play for an hour and nineteen minutes with no explanation as to why it wasn't longer and call himself real, that's bullshit. some of you are saying the bar was too noisy? were you there? i counted one heckler, periodically shouting whiskeytown, who ryan eventually casually joked with. i'm pretty sure a bad crowd wasn't the case. look easy tiger wasn't amazing, and just because the lights tonight were pretty neat and had some new colors and he played easy plateau, dear chicago, and i see monsters doesn't make the show amazing.
DISAPPOINTED.

i really loved the show and, yeah, it was one or two songs shorter than others but i do agree with wolfparty re: people at the bar. its the tla, its not the tower or the keswick [where people were very quiet]
its a stand up rock club. what do you expect? it wasn't that chatty.
the show did start late however which i think was the issue. i wonder why?

It sounds like the songs were good but none of these recent shows have been very long and being additive free doesn't seem to have improved his temperament any. It's such a shame when people come away from a show with a bad feeling. It does seem that RA doesn't seem to be able to cast off his moods when on stage and whatever else is going on in his life or whatever pisses him off during the show - he doesn't seem to be able to rise above it and just get on with it. Shame
