The next TBY Band Madness contest will be between "classic albums" (thanks Skortbrun) so I'm calling for nominations.

Which timeless albums would you like to see battle it out for the number one spot? The albums can be from any era, and although classic is a pretty slippery definiton, I guess we're after albums that you think will stand the test the time and may have been influential to other artists.

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

no one mentioned G.P./Grevious Angel - Gram Parsons yet.

aside from that, SkortBrun is the winner!

as for nirvana, despite it almost being a cop out, can we count the unplugged album instead of in utero or nevermind? or if it has to be one of those ones, let's go with in utero...

and can we count lucinda williams - car wheels on a gravel road or is that stretching the category a bit?

and definitely the cure - disintegration
carol king - tapestry
prince - purple rain
blondie - parallel lines
velvet underground - velvet underground & nico
patti smith - horses
the lemonheads - it's a shame about ray
are a few more i would add...

i think skortbrun covered all the other good ones. i'm still in awe.
