I'm sure he'll fall off into the oblivion next week. But it's nice for him to make the top 10.

Wow. :D That's pretty funny.

I tried to find out how it did on the Canadian charts, but google was not very helpful. Me = failure.
Glad to see it's selling so well in some parts of the world (for shame, Australia).

It looks like the last Canadian charts are for the week ending June 28, so Easy Tiger should be in this week's:

From Billboard:
Singer/songwriter Ryan Adams scores his highest position ever on The Billboard 200 this week with "Easy Tiger," which debuted at No. 7 with 61,000. The Lost Highway set trumps the artist's prior high-water mark of No. 26 with 2005's "Cold Roses."

A respectable position for such an album. I guess all those full page ads, interviews in popular tabloid papers and TV ad's worked a treat.

I blame myself. I didn't buy locally.I did and on release day it was mid afternoon and it was the last copy. First shop I went to didn't even stock it. (not a sanity or poppy record store, lil indie store which I actually brought gold from) Maybe thats why it didnt debut higher???

These stats are only representative of the first few weeks of sales, when all the fans like ourselves are out buying. My guess is that he'll probably drop out of the Top 50 after a month.

Just got the soundscans.
"Easy Tiger" fell to #31 this week on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. That's still not bad. Ryan sold 21,000 copies to bring his 2 week total up to 82,000. His sales are down 65%.

RA is big in Norway...thanks J, that's interesting info.
Yup, it seems about normal that Easy Tiger will be big. It is awful. I guess that is what people want. I have tried listening to the cd a few more times but I can't do it anymore. I keep skipping tracks and then find myself at the end.

Yeah, it's certainly not his best by any means, but don't you hear that ol' Ryan Adams sound in song like "Oh My God, Whatever, Etc" and "I Taught Myself How To Grow Old"? I think those 2 songs in particular could have been on a previous Ryan album.
-Matt
Actually I do like "Everybody Knows" but I wish I had never heard HalloweenHead since that song is now stuck in mine.......( and I think of Aussie Paul Kelly's line about "She is a stupid song, once its heard never goes away")

Totally off topic, sorry, but has anyone heard Paul Kelly's new one, "Stolen Apples" yet? If so, worth picking up?

Latest Billboard/Soundscane Info:
This week, "Easy Tiger" comes in at #49 with week sales of 14, 093. This brings his 3 week total to 96, 597. This is still really good for Ryan. I think this is his most profitable album so far. I mean, almost 100k units sold in the US in 3 weeks. I wish it was for a better album, musically, but at least our boy isn't getting less popular. He's selling what Lost Highway would like him to, which will hopefully lead to artistic freedom?

no shit...i'm pretty young....alright and everyone around my age is all about the rap...or sceamo/emo stuff...which I don't mind every once in a while..I mean doesn't everyone want to cut their wrist and black their eyes....
either way...everytime I put it on...everyone is like
"DUDE...WTF.....Paul Wall was on...get this shit out of here"
and I respond "Douchebag"
hahah...thought I should put that in there for comical effect
