Long story short, I got into Ryan Adams through my husband who's absolutely gay for him. We have all the albums, but I'm thinking of getting Cold Roses on vinyl. Worth it? Thanks!

Soooo worth it!

"Cold Roses" is my favorite pressing of Ryan's. It's pressed on 180g wax and sounds rich, deep and full. The packaging is great, with a beautiful gatefold cover. All in all, it's very worth it on vinyl, as is "Jacksonville City Nights"

All my friends are also gay for Ryan, so your husband is not alone.

completely worth it. if you can find a copy then great, if not just wait until it is rereleased on the 24th i believe (but that may just be in the US, check out the dates for australia).

Thanks, guys!
I think one of the local record shops might still have it on vinyl, so I'll call and ask tomorrow. Failing that, I'll check out that eBay listing.

Cheers.

No problem. That eBay listen goes up quite often so dont fret if it sells and you still want it. Just keep an eye on the site and you'll grab it again before long.

I called the record shop yesterday and he said he's getting the re-release in a couple of weeks. I could wait until then. I'm only going there because I've got a voucher to use up!

I know the repressing will be 180g as well, but I wonder if they'll keep the same cover, with the raised artwork on it? I hope so, but that does make the lp a little more expensive to produce. Good luck!

Yeah, I'm hoping for the raised artwork as well, but I could understand how it would be expensive to reproduce for a re-release. I guess we'll see.
