Yeah those big guitar tones, harmonies and the 3/4 time signature makes it a little similar, but I doubt it was a conscious lift. Kinda like how Hotel Chelsea Nights sounds like Purple Rain. Then again the more they sound like CSNY the more I would be stoked. They sure don't make bands like that anymore, no sir.

Its pretty much a consensus throughout the kingdom of Ryan Adams Fanboys that Hotel Chelsea was complete lift from purple rain, he just changed the chord progression order and threw in a new hook
he sings the verses esentially the same.
But hey Purple Rain was a lift from Bob Segar...
so the trend goes on and on

But yah this doesn't sound like a complete lift...

It's a lot like Purple Rain, but it also has evokes John Lennon on the vocals.
