are a bunch of Bruce Springstein fanatics

ahha....he was the boss..not so much anymore I figure..he reminds...and I hope you guys don't kick me the nuts... a John Mellencamp :(

tell me your thoughts about him in this modern age?

I honestly thought his carreer was over after "Born In the USA"

yeah, but john mellencamp was cool too.
in my so very humble opinion, and don;t kick me, the 80's did some very bad things to many really great musicians--phil collins--psuedio?
and regardless, springstein is a legend. not like mr dylan. but he deserves some credit

phil collins was crazzzyyy he made against all odds..which is wanna my great Break Up songs...

but I respect your answer...wasn't phil collins drummer of genesis?

first, what is "i'm bored with you already" come from? i love that
yeah, drummer then singer for genesis
"one step up, two steps back" one of my all time favorite songs by springstein since BIUSA
you need to check out very old mellencamp, another all time favs from that period, but my memory sucks and i cant think of it
as long as we're on the subject. someone who wasn't ruined in the 80's, mr warren zevon, very much worth checking out
oh and yeah, against all odds still makes me cry

Bruce is the boss. No more fitting of a name.

ahh bored with you already comes from a lyric from any body wanna take me home

*cough* heres an exerpt from it

"Can you recommend an education or drugs
Because I am bored with you already"

but by far Darkness Of the Edge of Our Town is an underrated album...

you're a classy fella aren't ya...well i've gone back to mellencamp as far I think..I remember faintly "Scare Crow" as myself wasn't even born for another 5 years..but I like the songs like Small town & Lonely 'Ol Town....good jams none of the less..but I think that song "this is our country" is a little to overdone...

but yess...phil collins was genious...I'm trying to figure out Where is he....he's just not showing his face and actually living a life..I mean I saw Brian Wilson (beach boys lead singer)....and I don't phil WTF

"you're a classy fella aren't ya"?--what does that mean? whatever. i think i just happen to be old. you'll be old some day too. I don't think i've heard "anybody wanna take me home" of course, its ryan. Rock and roll, only cd i didn't buy.
sydnyfan, thanx for backing me and clewis up.

I didn't mean nothing by..just meant its a classic..and trying to say you were classy...but true..I will get old...which sucks...but I got time..trust me

really well I think its on Love Is Hell also...i'm not sure..It might bethe longer version too...but rock and roll is great because he didn't give a fuck..all the crictics liked it...accept for pitchfork..but pitchfork supports any INDIE or unknown...or really deep for that matter

but on topic

is he STILL the boss or is just an old dude was born in 1949 but made like somewhat 6 #1 albums I think??

IDK

i bought love is hell on the 2 disc version. so if its on the single version i don't know. i love that cd. i'm saving rocknroll for a rainy day. yes, springsteen is the boss, forever, just like dylan is god. when you're older, you're appreciation may flourish, and it happens faster than you think. yeah, what happened to phil.?

'The Rising' is an amazing record - I'd get that. It was largely written in response to 9/11 and has some kickass tunes. :)

of course he's still the boss. he's the blue collar guy from jersey who started at 'the stone pony' and rocked it worldwide. that's the american dream.
I love his old stuff. he really had his finger on the pulse of teenage angst and getting the hell away frm parents. Born in the usa wore me out. a little too commercial. maybe it was the video with courtney cox that turned me off. i'm not into patirotic music. it's a little too broad. i prefer more personal music that speaks on an individual level. which takes us to 'the rising'. great new stuff and if he's got another album on the way, i'm buying it.

Born in the USA was certainly not his finest moment, that's for sure. Having said that though, the big problem with it is cheesy 80's style production rather than bad songs imo.

Also, because I'm a Bruce nerd I feel compelled to point out that the Born in the USA single is not a patriotic song at all. In fact, it's condemning post-Vietnam American and the treatment of Vietnam veterans.

Sorry, I'll return to sorting my bootlegs by taper surname. :P

Reagan wanted to but Bruce wouldn't allow it.
