Review from phisy80

Peaceful and magnoila were sick, great jams, but I cant believe it was that short. I paid almost 90 dollars for two tickets off of ticketmaster, and what they played tonight sounded amazing, I was disappointed by the short show.

Maybe we're going to have to get used to some short shows slotted in between the 2 and a half hour ones. As long as it's a good show I don't think I'd mind so much.

I feel like Im reading reviews on a great Ryan Adams cover band.
They dont write new songs together or alone I guess.
Am I wanting /expecting too much?
Thank you for the playlist.

I don't understand this. Where is it written that they must play new/different songs night after night.

I'm also not clear on how sets like these make them a Ryan Adams cover band. What other songs should they play?

im glad more stuff from cold roses is making it into the set lists. im hoping by 10/14 hes ready to bust out some of the less single-esque tracks from the record.

if he walks around taking request like he did recently before the show, im thinking this:

with band, ryan only singing:
meadowlake street, or stars go blue (the nissan set was amazing)

with band, ryan playing guitar:
english girls approximately, or bar lights

ryan solo:
avenues, friends (id like to see it with a harmonica)

particular, maybe, but i can dream.

I was also at this show and slightly disappointed in the length but only because I have been reading the sets being posted on here. However the only time I had seen Ryan before there were more songs with less jamming - basically just sounded like recordings. I don't like jam bands but I really really liked a lot of the extended versions of songs. The crowd was so fucking annoying and NOT FUNNY. I am going to Kzoo tomorrow (WHICH I STILL NEED A RIDE HOME FROM! ACK!) and I really hope the set will be longer, or at least different. I am also surprised that they don't play the singles from the new album, or Dear Chicago or Come Pick Me Up just because I think of those as crowd favorites, but maybe that's just me!

I loved the peaceful valley stuff, the extended Goodnight Rose, the line "you were sweet enough to sing oblivious to melody", and the moments when the crowd was dead silent in awe of Ryan's solo voice. I had chills for a good chunk of the concert. I cried twice, and came twice. (Dear John, Oh My Sweet Carolina/when Ryan played piano & harmonica).

I got written up at work for skipping in order to drive back to A2 from Indy for the show, and it was SO worth it.

i dont think we can expect ryan to play 'crowd favourites' every night, i wouldnt want him to anyway.

as for this set, yes its a little shorter than other recent shows, but still sounds cool, the solo bit in the middle (thought he hated playing solo) was a nice addition.

hope everyone who went enjoyed it

I guess what I mean by crowd favs is songs that from what I hear from other people who love Ryan (which isn't hardly any so, my sample size is limited) there are certain songs they would really want to hear, which happen to be my favorites (aka Dear Chicago)... And yes everyone can't always hear their favorite song if the set lists get switched up a lot, but that's also the good part about going to Kzoo tonight is hopefully I can hear other songs that I haven't heard live before. If it was the same every night we (and especially R&TC) would get real bored.
