We have national press:
MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (AP) -- Ryan Adams pitched another fit for a Minneapolis audience, a few years after his last local meltdown.
Throughout a show Thursday night, the 32-year-old singer-guitarist complained about the sound monitors onstage at the State Theatre. At one point, he moved two monitors, his microphone and his guitar pedals.
After 70 minutes he'd had enough. Adams announced "the last song," played it and didn't return for an encore. Many fans stood and booed.
"I don't know what the story was," guitarist Neal Casal told the Star Tribune afterward. "I just play guitar."
In 2003, Adams gave a famously bad performance at First Avenue, a rambling two-hour show where he griped about the sound system, played several songs twice and lambasted local rock legend Paul Westerberg

That is not going to end well. I see Neal gone at the lastest, after the tour, if not, well, ASAP.

The sad thing is, this isn't even his best meltdown.

Actually I wouldn't even consider it a meltdown. Just pissyness.

I wouldn't call it a meltdown either. He walked off and quite playing so that he wouldn't have a meltdown, but the actual meltdown itself never occured.

No, it wasn't that bad. It was short. That's it. End of story.

I really really hope Neal doesn't walk. He brings such a lot to the band. Surely he knows Ryan well enough by now to be able to ride it out.
Front page of cnn.com and #2 most viewed story :lol

This sort of coverage will either act as a wake-up call for Ryan or just speed up the major melt-down that seems to be building. I hope it's the former, but suspect it will be the latter.
Either way, something has got to give.

The way Ryan's been acting lately, it's true. The way I see it, the Cards are there to perform, and at these shows where Ryan wants to be a puss they take the backseat, Ryan being the main attraction - "what's he gonna do next?". If Ryan wants to become part of the Cards and lose the name then he better shape up. I don't blame Neal for saying what he said, because it's fucking true.

I agree Neal is irreplaceable right now but maybe both Ryan and he know that. Mutual need I think.

Brad's been around forever and put up with more than anyone. If he left it would mean that Ryan's done something horrible.
Faded Rose
09-30-2007, 01:02 PM
It would have to be beyond horrible. Brad deserves a medal for what he's put up with over the years. I don't think Ryan would take it at all well if Brad upped and left. Mind you whenever I've seen Brad live or on DVDs he always looks so serene. Whatever inner peace he's found - can he tell me his secret.
