"ADAMS THROWS AMPLIFIER AT MONITOR ENGINEER! THEN DRINKS TEA ANGRILY IN BACK OF BUS!"
I really still cannot believe that the MN "Meltdown" made the front page of CNN...how is that possible??

Slow news day most likely. And his profile is higher since all the promotion for Easy Tiger.

The story was so boring though :lol
The headline was the best.

The interesting thing is that because that story went national, regional media in every town he plays will now know that RA has a tendency to tantrum. Which might mean that future pissy shows might receive a little more coverage than before.

Expect a big press presence at the show and Ryan is so contrary that this is going to be a perfect show. Trust the man not to do what's expected of him - good or bad.
This may have been bad press for him but we're all getting a lot of mileage out of it.

the silliest thing is that it's SO LAME compared to other onstage pissy-ness that he's had in the past.
when i first became a fan i didn't know if he'd stay alive, he was that bad.
that night was rainbows and sunshine compared. wtf?

Yep, I agree. It's all sorts of ironic that he got called out for what, by his own standards, was a reasonably mild reaction. But that's the wonderful world of journalism for you. :P

Don't you think that there's a little bit inside of us all that quite enjoys it when he has a pissy night. It's the little boy Ryan that we all know and love really and I for one am glad that he hasn't completely buried that part of himself. Ok so he can be a drama queen but so what...:D

A little bit of drama might be okay, but if it overwhelms the entire show, or results in a walkoff, then I don't think its much fun for the people who paid good money for a ticket.

The pissy nights are always best enjoyed when they happen at someone else's show I suppose.
I think what I was trying to say is that we know he's like - and no we don't want it to happen at the show we're at but we are all aware that there's a possibility it could. So come November everyone on TBY is going to wish me a pissy show!!!

Bingo...the MN show gave us online people a lot to talk about, but to have paid for a ticket would have been a different story for me personally.

Review from blue-eyes:
hey guys.. i ususally post over on the .org.. but i thought i'd let you hear my two cents..
I feel really sorry for those cats in minneapolis, and anywhere else where fans felt jipped.
ra and the cards we crazy on tonight.
banter between almost every song.. and not just little hardly barely able to hear him, but serious two to three minutes between each song hilarity.
to start off the night a young gentleman came out on stage and made an announcement that the band would be out at about 815 and play until about 10. he continued that the set list was that, set.. and that screaming songs would not make them magically appear. he also said that they only rules are, there are no rules. it was a nice message.
it was a straight shot. no solo stuff.
i have to admit, this one rivals the HOB for me.. an almost solid three hours of play.. jamming and the banter was great, a few kids after the first couple songs started to scream out names of songs.. and either ryan or neil said something along the lines of - didn't you hear the announcement.. and ryan continued with, well that's one more off the list we aren't playing tonight.. everyone laughed because this guy was a totally douche.. naturally. there was mention of the melt-down and he was totally making fun of himself between songs with that.. and said something how brad was causing all of this ruckus around the country.. also made up a song about denny's.. was a bit upset that there were no standing video games at this place he had seen in downtown iowa city, asked what the world was coming to..
stuff like that.
oh.. and he's quit smoking.
ryan was wearing the patch.. so he was all hyped up on diet coke.. i swear he probably drank at least six on stage.
i really hope this got bootlegged.. the sound was amazing.. the band was in good spirits.. and i'd love to hear that banter.

If he has packed in smoking that would explain a few things :)
I wouldn't have liked to see him on the 1st few days after that decision was made!!!

I think it's hilarious that they had somebody give a message not to do requests, but yet there are no rules.
And, if he's actually quit smoking, Wow.

He had two cigs on stage during the Milwaukee show.

he might be practising for not being able to smoke in the uk.
most of the 06 gigs i saw him do he didn't smoke. not sure if he wore patches, it didn't seem like a big deal anyway.

maybe he's just cutting back then. Either way you go, if he's making the effort at all I'm pretty shocked.

What an amazing gig. I've been waiting 6 years for this show and I was in no way disappointed. I took my friend with me who didn't really know much about his music, and as we were waiting for the encore, I said to her, "Not bad, eh?" and she looked at me and said, "He had me with the first song"...I think a monster may have been created haha
The seating was a bit weird, but I was happy to be sitting front row center which just made the whole experience so much more immediate. They sounded absolutely brilliant and I really dug the back drop and the lighting. And we've never laughed so much in our lives!
Great great show. And I also hope a bootleg pops up somewhere.
