Any word on his mood?

No, nothing I can find yet. Hopefully it's not pissy.

Easy Plateau as a closer would be disappointing.

highlights were cold roses, beautiful sorta, and easy plateau.

easy plateau was an astounding closer, actually. the lighting was amazing throughout and really added to the mood of the show.

lots of happy chat, including a spacewolf birthday announcement and the first ever 'jon graboff nightly joke' (in which he did a rodney dangerfield impersonation).

great banter, a little hating on maroon five.

'if you ever rob maroon 5's house, go straight for the closet. thats where all the expensive shit is. theres a gold mine in there. the fashion, its some kind of la thing. i dont get it.'

then he and neal were goin on about it, and ryan said:

'they wear a lot of vests.'

neal: 'i wear vests.'

ryan: 'yeah, but they like to wear a lot of vests and not a lot of shirts.'

it was funny. and somebody farted by the piano and ryan called them out on it.

he said he 'felt it with it his entire body', and used adjectives like 'amazing'.

great show, did the fox justice. :)

Glad you had a good time. I wonder where this obsession with Maroon 5 came from.

i think someone in the crowd said something about maroon 5.

But he was talking about them and vest last night as well. Very strange. :)

Was the Maroon 5 banter in Charleston brought about by a comment from the crowd or was it just something Ryan started himself?

And a review from Drunken Boat:

Short second set. No encore.

I'm torn. Much of tonight's set was pretty damn great, and the sound at the Fox was well done, but the show seemed incomplete. A small part of me says RA doesn't deserve his loyal fan base (me included). Yes, the typical theater of R&R is bullshit, but it's bullshit with a pedigree at this point. He could have played 7-8 more minutes and left everyone happy.

I didn't hear anyone say anything about Maroon 5 so I'm assuming it started with the Cardinals.

i mean i thought it was great that everyone really fought for an encore and even booed when they turned the house lights on, but hey - it was a long set and we got our monies worth.

sure, i wish he'd played a few more songs and replaced some he did play with different ones but its just splitting hairs.

good show, and lets face it... what else would you be doing on a sunday night?

edit: monies misspelled because its atlanta, bitch.

kk, rescues blues was ma fav of the night... welp we grooving half the peeps wanna sit in the fox. sound was a bit run down. first few songs couldn't hear ryry's voice over the instruments. (some wierd click in the music like schwang schwang) welp guess im spoiled after the tabbie shows last year. (best shows ever!) tonight had a goose bump tho! fans were nice :)

hating on Maroon 5 to stir up a rivalry and publicity!
probably not, but how mismatched of a feud would that be?
and knowing ryan's all-around love of music, he's probably been listening to it a lot lately on the bus or something. :lol

the boos last night were totally uncalled for.

People need to get used to the fact that sometimes he plays encores and sometimes he just leaves the stage without so much as a thanks or g'night. It doesn't even mean he's pissy - sometimes that's the way it goes. It's as if he decides enough is enough, he needs the bathroom or he just wants to quit. Get over it.

Apart from that - it sounds like a good show.

it was a great show. this band is so tight and they killed it last night. I'm sure they played the setlist they had written out beforehand.
