Loved walking into work today and seeing this CD sticking out of my mailbox, almost forgot it was comming out heh.

anyways, the cardinals version of This Is It is pretty awesome and the If I Am A Stranger is ridiculously good.

the new songs sound like Easy Tiger tracks, a little overproduced and very "On Next Weeks Very Special Dawson's Creek ...." ish.

Anyways, since promos popped up today i am sure that this will be on Oink by tomorrow night.

The FBI would never be brought in to investigate.

That might depend on how tight the LH marketing budget is for this album.

Apparently, 30-sec samples can be heard here:
http://music.yahoo.com/release/50325274

None of them work for me. Maybe they only work for people in the U.S. :\

it took me a couple listens, but it's a pretty good song.

...but i miss when the Cardinals had some balls behind the tunes.
i'm getting a little tired of everything being mellow or mellowed out.

I can get it working if I use IE7 and allow popups.

i'm tired of this hippie jam shit.
i thought you loved the Stones too, Ryan.

The clip isn't overtly bad, but it is extremely bland and uninteresting.

extremely bland is right.
there's no thrill in ryan's newer songs. it's all too laid back.

he grew up.
he needs to crank up the fucking distortion again.
do a rockin' three piece with Brad and Spacewolf.

I don't think growing up has anything to do with the creative process.

I really like the slow "country" stuff but even I'm getting tired of the same old set list evening after evening. He needs to take a long hard look at where he's going musically and then kick himself in the ass and move forward. If "immersing himself in the Cardinals" is taking him down this road a lot of his fans won't be going with him.

you're missing two vital components from that equation.

i'm guessing follow the lights is just a b-side from the easy tiger sessions as well as the re-recorded version of my love for you is real. i think this is just a leftovers record that lost highway is putting out for the hell of it. at least that's the way it seems to me. i haven't heard any of the clips or full songs yet so i don't know how i feel about it yet.

cigarettes & blow?

okay, those too.

i was going for two breakups.
relationship and band.
heartbreaker is about a breakup, and i like to believe it was at least a little bit motivated by the breakup/fall apart of Whiskeytown.

OK. I didn't really care about this. But I'm watching Norah Jones on ACL. I want to hear this Dear John from the Ep. If its even half as sweet as they are playing it now, I will love it. (For the record, I know Norah jones is not on the EP version)

and mine wasn't intented to be harsh.
i am one of those people who think that being sober has changed ryan's music making. not to say that he needed the sauce and the drugs to make that music. (except maybe rock n' roll. cocaine is a hell of a drug.) but i think he definately needs to get used to making music sober again without it being all mellow and having no ROCK in it.

He needs to make another "Love is Hell", only better if that's possible.
