The Queen Is Dead. As much as i love all their albums, this one stands above the others for me. I think the great thing about the smiths is that they'll never become irrelivant because the lyrics work today the same way they would have 20 years ago. Meat Is Murder comes in second place, 5 or 6 truly great songs on that one too

I love everything they ever did, but The Queen Is Dead would probably rate first for me too, then their s/t debut. Meat is Murder might come in last, much as I love it. Especially Well I Wonder and Rusholme Ruffians.

louder than bombs was my first smith's record back in middle school, so i tend to want to hear those songs in that order, but i think it is a greatest hits kind of thing?..

It's a collection of album tracks, B-sides, and singles, it was issued for US fans, it's similar to the UK issue of The World Won't Listen, but it collects more tracks. Awesome album, I think I actually listen to it more then TQID.

Love Louder Than Bombs. That's probably the one I listen to the most lately.

The Queen Is Dead. (And sometimes Hatful of Hollow.)
I nearly wet my pants when I discovered there's an unreleased 8-minute version of the title track somewhere. I WANT!
