CD mostly. I'm not a big fan of just having the digital version of an album.

I had to select all three legal means.

I have a subscription service which I use to get most of my music.
I buy vinyl for my favorite artists.
I get CDs for albums that I like but aren't on the subscription service.

Vinyl is the best.

I try to buy all CDs used, just to save some money.

CDs for new artists, but I buy vinyl as well for RA. All oldies are purchased on vinyl from the used record store.

If its on vinyl, thats what I get. CDs otherwise.

Digital for exclusive tunes and EPs or pre-release singles.

Mostly cds but if I find a cheap good vinyl I'll get it or I would get my favourite artists on vinyl. I would only use itunes for single tunes.

I d-load a lot of music free, but I don't consider it stealing, b/c I end up spending an obscene amount of $$ on artists I've first heard from free d-loads. That being said, I prefer vinyl records to other formats for lots of reasons. If I can't get something on vinyl I pay to download...can't stand cds...there even less durable than vinyl and cardboard...they're junk in my estimation...

Yep. I have a few albums that I have bought off ITunes because I was too impatient to wait for them. And in most cases, I really wish I'd waited and just got the CD.

All four, but I buy CD's way more than the other options. As for downloading, I use the legal means for bonus tracks (Ex: "Let's Not Get Carried Away" by Wilco was an iTunes exclusive for the new album) and most of the time when I download something for free I end up buying it on CD.

Cd's and vinyl. I don't like digital downloads. I only use it when there's only one song on an album I want, or if it's an iTunes exclusive type jobber. Otherwise, I always buy the actual cd or the vinyl.

I almost always buy CD's unless iTunes has an exclusive or the album is difficult to find in stores.

if i REALLY like the artist, i'll buy it on CD. if its obscure and i cant get it by any other means i'll get it off itunes, if i just wanna experiment with an album that ive read mixed reviews on, i steal it. and if i see a classic vinyl in my 2nd hand record store, i'll buy that too

Oh fun! Another poll! :woohoo

Cd's mostly for me. I love the "art of the album cover". It's getting to be a lost art these days, but I still like to see the liner notes and have a tangible object for my money.

I occasionally use i-Tunes for old songs that the cd's are harder to find or I'm fairly sure there's only one song on the disc that I'd want anyway.

I have a lot of vinyl but I haven't purchased any in a while.

I just know if I go with the illegal downloads, I'll be the next one they use for an "example". That's just the way my luck goes. :\

So, I really think I would like to get some vinyl. do they actually make players still? Prob. a stupid question. Feel free to ridicule, but at least include an answer if you do. ;)

I agree completely. If it's something I'm not sure I'll like, I usually end up getting it from e-music. The "classics" and things I know I'll love I buy CDs for.

Yea they make players still. I got one a couple of years ago that was made to look really old (you would think so too, apart from it plays CDs aswell :D).

I'd say a pawn shop Technics is your best bet for a turntable...I like old SL-D1s if you can't find/afford a 1200...

CDs, always CDs...but that could be because I used to manage a record store...

Ewok, Is there a good place to buy one in MPLS? Or is on-line my best bet?
