I find Cash's American series to be just as mind numbingly repetitive as his earlier work.

Never heard the 2nd option.

I like the Ryan and Willie stuff but it would have been a lot better had it just been a Ryan Adams & the Cardinals record.

Whatever music I listen to doesn't seem to bear any resemblance to what everyone else listens to. I haven't listened to any of the above. Should I or am I really not missing that much?

I like them all and think they're all worth owning. Nashville country is so corny, but the classic stuff is great. That's why I dig all three as an update on classic country and what I wish they played on country radio?

FR, do you use last fm?

Van Lear Rose is a great album. Songbird fell way short of my expectations. Johnny Cash is...Johnny Cash. Van Lear Rose gets my vote.
