What's your favourite and why? I dare someone to say Human Touch.

I voted for Nebraska with Darkness and BTR fighting it out for second place. Magic ranks pretty highly as well.

Asbury Park, with Born to Run as a close 2nd.

Greetings is very underrated. For You is one of my all time fave Bruce songs, especially the slow burn ballad version from Hammersmith 75. :rock

Born To Run because I've only heard a few of these and I can't be bothered to listen to the rest of them.

I'm sure I'll hear them eventually, so don't you worry.

Right on! I always hear people trash that record, but I don't understand why.

i grew up w/ born in the usa and born to run, and didn't hear the wild the innocent & the e st shuffle until i was an adult. when i heard that album, i couldn't believe nobody had played it for me before. it's not only my favorite springsteen album, but one of my favorite rock and roll albums of all time. there is something about this soulful jersey street kid and his multicultural gang of punks that is so of the moment and simultaneously so timeless. god i love that record.

i am going up stairs to grab it right now and do the e street shuffle.

Has there ever been a better party song than Rosalita? I doubt it. This is a tremendous live version from a 1978 concert.
Watch the end - Bruce gets mobbed by girls. He doesn't seem to mind too much.

The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle

It is the perfect Rock record front-to-back, except maybe NY Serenade, I could actually live without that one.

Otherwise, The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle, or Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ...stupid Boss being too good.

D needs to vote. He might be embarrassed that Human Touch is his favorite.

Darkness On The Edge of Town

Probably the most perfect of all his records, in my opinion.

You know, I've always like Bruce from the little that I've heard, and since being on this board have been meaning to check out one of his albums, but wasn't sure where to start. Whichever one comes out on top here, that'll be the one I get. No pressure.

Greetings From Asbury Park. My first Springsteen album and still my favorite. That version of Blinded by the Light is priceless.

Vote well, TBY'ers. The only Bruce I own is Live in Dublin...so, I"m gonna buy whichever record wins.

D speaks the truth. Its my favourite Bruce album, but I wouldn't start with it either. You can' go wrong with Born to Run as a start-up album. The River, Darkness and even Magic would be okay as well.

Good starting with list. I would add Born In The USA because that one made me a fan.

Thanks for the advice, maybe I will start with Born To Run. I read a review of Magic that sounded really good, but I wanted to start with one of the older ones, but I didn't really want to start with Born in the USA since it's the most famous one (well, that's my impression anyway) and often the most famous is not the best. I guess I should be looking for the album that epitomises Springsteen the best. Sounds like a good excuse for another poll. :D

I completely agree with all that.

I voted for Tunnel of Love, not because I think it is the "BEST" Springsteen album, but because it is my favorite Springsteen album. I can't tell you why, but it definitely is.

I need to listen to Tunnel of Love more often. I love it, but for some reason I seem to play it less than some of the other albums. I shall listen to it today :upyours

Yeah, Tunnel Of Love is great, but Nebraska best.

Can someone put Nebraska Live 84-85 (lossless) on DIME or so? My CD plays, but is flawed. :(

yep, its a boot. One I've coveted for a long time... BTW, some friends of mine are doing a charity project to raise money for The Wounded Warrior project. For a 10-15 dollar donation you can obtain any one of 100s of bootlegs (mostly Springsteen, but a few Ryan). More info here. (http://www.tarotpassages.com/woundedwarrior.htm)
