thats quite a high ranking for Dont Believe The Truth; i love all of them too but i thought maybe that one had perhaps one too many Noel sung songs and im still not 100% convinced by Liam as a songwriter. you heard the new single, 'Lord Dont Slow Me Down'?

2. RnR Star
3. Morning Glory
4. Columbia
5. My Big Mouth
Special Mention: Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is
I actually think Be Here Now has aged well, at first, I hated it, but now I have grown to love it.

Yeah, I usually go for the epic and complex arrangements in most discographies, but ain't nothing wrong with a little solo acoustic ballad either.

as an album, id probably say its my favourite oasis album. musically id say its not as 'good' as morning glory, but as an album i perfer it. it encapsulates everything oasis were about at the time, big, brash, drunken sing-a-longs. id like to give a special mention to 'Its Getting Better (Man!!)'. love that song too
also, if anyone wants the new song PM me

I stand by my ranking for DBTT. Noel had some amazing songs on that album. most of those songs on that album are classic the second I heard them. part of the que, guess god thinks i'm abel (great liam song i believe), Lyla is just fun. As Noel called it, "our pop song on a pogo-stick...people eat it up live though". Mucky Fingers is awesome. With Gem on the harmonica...it all rocks. Noel's best "importance of being idle" keep the dream alive, let there be love...give all those another listen, blare it up...you'll hear why it's in my top 5! :-)
I'm a big person on lyrics. Which is probably why I'm a huge ryan adams fan. Noel has some great songs with great lyrics. Heathen Chemistry even had some pretty great rock ballads. "Stop crying your heart out"

Thinking about buying an Oasis album and was just wondering if Stop The Clocks was a good selection of their best songs.

yeah id say it's pretty faultless to be honest. though i would have put 'whatever' on there myself. get either that or if you want to start with an album get 'Whats the story morning glory'

HC was ok i thought, 'Born On A Different Cloud' would be my standout song on that, Liam's best song i reckon.
On a slightly different subject, you heard some of the stuff they had before Definitely Maybe? ive got a CD with the 1992 demos and there's some top stuff on it, even a song liam wrote with bonehead.

I agree.
Step Out is a badass song. Where did it all go wrong? is another great Noel masterpiece.
I have 3 oasis dvds: Live at Wembley, Live by the Sea, and
the definitely maybe DVD.
"Step Out" at Wembley is frickin awesome on that one. so is Gas Panic and Shakermaker. makes me feel like i'm on drugs. lol. "Live Forever" is the big one of the night (if i were actually there for that.) My buddy flew across the pond just for that concert, he went to night #1 at Wembley. he still talks about it.

yeah, the crowd and energy of that show is awesome. Live by the Sea was during the height of their popularity, it was their first big major show in a soccer stadium in their hometown. And its cold outsdie, so there are some awesome shots of Liam singing his heart out and you can see his breath coming out when he shouts the songs out, its just complete badass.

Dont u mean there and then?
yeah i think scuba.steve means There and Then, which was at Maine Road (Manchester City's football stadium). Live by the Sea was done in the empress ballroom in Blackpool, which is indoor.
though for the record that picture above is taken from the 1995 gig in Slane Caste in Ireland when they supported REM

someone else commented earlier about the Wembley dvd. ive never been that fussed about that one, i think the band lost a lot of pure energy after the Be Here Now tour and Liam's voice has deteriorated badly
wish there was a dvd of the be here now tour actually. watch this...this is my favourite live Oasis song ever http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=crY2wHTLhs0
wish the song sounded like that on the album
