View Full Version : White Ribbon Day - 25th November

Blatant plug for a cause that I support - 25th November is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (White Ribbon Day).
I have a feeling this is not recognised in the US, but it is in Australia, most of Europe and large parts of Asia. If you have the opportunity, buy a white ribbon and show your support. It's a small gesture, but every donation helps to draw attention to the massive problem of violence against women, both domestic and otherwise.
If you need any further convincing, read here:

I believe it is a little purple ribbon in the US, I know because it is on my fall coat. Hopefully it is little purple...

yes. Yellow ribbons, white ribbons, pink ribbons, red ribbons.....try them all at once and you'll look like a one-man gay pride parade.

Ohhh, Kramer.
I also agree that it's a great cause, but I'm just tired of ribbons and buttons and the like.

It is purple sometimes, yes. We also have the white ribbon as well. Excellent cause. Thanks for posting it, C.

And yes, I know the ribbon thing has been done to death, but it really is only a symbol and can still be a pretty simple and effective way of promoting a particular cause.

No problems. Interesting that you have two different campaigns in the US.

They just need something new. Ribbons have turned into a popularity contest in America.
