Seems like they're going back to the shorter songs (short by Mars Volta standards, anyways) that were more common on the first album. Apparently, this album is about bad luck the band started having after one of them bought an ancient Ouija board in Jerusalem and the messages they received from it and poems that were written on the board about a "mother-daughter-and-other-man love triangle." Can't wait to hear it.

1. "Aberinkula" – 5:47
2. "Metatron" – 8:13
3. "Ilyena" – 5:38
4. "Wax Simulacra" – 2:41
5. "Goliath" – 7:17
6. "Tourniquet Man" – 2:40
7. "Cavalettas" – 9:35
8. "Agadez" – 6:45
9. "Askepios" – 5:13
10. "Ouroboros" – 6:38
11. "Soothsayer" – 9:10
12. "Conjugal Burns" – 6:36

And here's the album cover, which I think is awesome:

I just hope it's better than the last couple.
They wern't BAD, but they wern't Deloused.

I've come to appreciate the others, but yeah they definitely weren't close to being Deloused. I've heard that the tracks that have leaked so far have a Deloused kind of sound to them so that's good news.

I love the Volta, they are so good live. They are getting a bit too jammy, but hopefully the next tour will go back to Deloused.

I have seen them 6 times.

Is this new one self produced?, I think having someone there to say 'enough' when Omar wants to go of on a tangent is a good thing. Live they can jam till the cows some home and I dig it, but on record it needs to be more focused, maybe its my add or something but the last couple of releases have left me cold.

I agree, he is one of those guys who needs an editor. It is self produced, I really have liked all thier studio albums, the Live one didn't do too much for me.

But yeah, he totally needs a co-producer, but I wouldn't hold your breath...
