personally think moz is very overrated as a solo artist, but anyhow, he has some good tracks...
1. Suedehead
2. Everyday is like Sunday
3. Irish Blood, English Heart
4. National Front Disco
5. First of the gang to die

Really? I think he's made some amazing albums as a solo artist. Viva Hate, Vauxhall and I, Your Arsenal, You Are The Quarry, and the singles/b-side compilation Bona Drag were all brilliant, imo. Narrowing it down to 5 is really difficult for me, so I'll do 10. :D
(no order)
1. Speedway
2. Come Back To Camden
3. Never-Played Symphonies
4. Now My Heart Is Full
5. Jack The Ripper
6. Suedehead
7. Every Day Is Like Sunday
8. Now My Heart Is Full
9. Seasick, Yet Still Docked
10.Everyday Is Like Sunday

hmm, i just think he's got very pretentious in recent years. i mean, he was always that way in the smiths, but then they were relevant, wheras i dont particularly think morrissey as a solo performer is. that said, ive seen him live twice in the last few years and he's been fantastic and he still has thousands of die-hard fans, but i feel he lacks a sense of meaning these days.

I haven't heard any of his records since Your Arsenal (I think). And I haven't seen him live since that time period. So this thread isn't really aimed at me.
But an essential Moz list needs to include the entire Viva Hate LP. How can you leave out "Hairdresser on Fire" or "Maudlin Street"? Or even "Sister, I'm a Poet"?

"Maudlin Street"
I could have easily included that on my list. It's one of my favorite Moz songs.

i can really only listen to Viva Hate, Bona Drag, and Vauxhall and I. I love the smiths but Morrissey's solo music doesn't really do anything for me. With that Being said, I do love those three albums already mentioned.
1. Hold On To Your Friends
2. Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself
3. Suedehead
4. Every Day Is Like Sunday
5. First of the Gang to Die
