Down in a hole is an amazing cover. He puts so much effort and soul into it. he makes it a country/rock ballad and it's simply amazing...
...I would love to hear it live. I wonder if he has any air in his lungs after he sings it, cause he pours his heart into it.
I went with follow the lights, it really doesn't go anywhere if you listen to it like his other songs. there really isn't the major parts of a song in it, it just has that one way path to it. just doesn't feel like it progresses.

"Follow The Lights"....perhaps one of his worst songs ever.

"If I Am A Stranger." This version does nothing for me.

I actually like this version over the Cold Roses version. Same goes for Dear John as well.

The Now That You're Gone 7" version destroys both.

Can I vote for all of them? :D
I guess Follow The Lights...

Cindy Cashdollar's pedal steel solo does it to me every time I hear the CR version.
And the recording is so much better.

yeah the recording is much better, but I thought maybe that had to do with a bad vinyl transfer? No? But I think the 7" has much more feeling.

I've never come across an actual copy of the 7" for comparison. So, no idea.
Though I would love to get one someday. :upyours
But I'm about even on which version I like more. Depends on the day/my mood.

"This Is It" for me. See I am almost alone on that front.
I really dig the RNR "This Is It." I need rock with my "This Is It."

Follow The Lights - it was playing in Starbucks yesterday which confirmed it would be the right decision for me to vote for it first. I don't dislike it. In fact I like this EP better than ET. I like this version of Stranger.

That one's next on my list.
And then Stranger.

I just don't think some of the remakes are that great. "Stranger" to me doesn't go anywhere. It's really missing that snare drum feel. It doesn't drive enough for me.

Down In A Hole. I've not heard the original but I really don't like RA's version.

Follow the lights...though this vote seems so pointless.

I'm not voting because I haven't listened to this one. I heard this is pretty mediocre, so I decided to spend the dough on other tunes I knew would be good. Good move? Opinions?

I'm not voting for the same reason. I heard a couple of the tunes when they were streamed on his MySpace and they didn't do anything for me.

Blue Hotel and Down in a Hole are good, rest are very dull and boring. You were right to save your money.

Personally I prefer Follow The Lights to Easy Tiger. Simply because there's more listenable songs on FTL.

I thought you were gonna say because there's less songs in general.

That too. Although the British version has bloody 'Everybody Knows' on it too. PUKE

:lol
that's the other reason I didn't buy it. I was so underwhelmed by ET and just didn't care to hear anything else in the same vain.

It's track one, though, so it's easy to skip it ;)
(It's not that bad, really. Besides, it's the EP title track.)
