I would strongly suggest reading the books, they're such an excellent series.

The upside of not reading the books is that you can expect a lot of 'OMFG moments' as you watch the TV series. ;)

Are the books as vulgar as the TV series? If so, I must read. ;)

The books are quite brilliant. I haven't seen any of the TV series.

So, I was flipping through channels last night and turned this on. What do I see? Some huge guy doing some white haired woman doggy-style. And she did not look impressed.

What an awkward moment to land into the show.

These two have my favourite character arcs, especially Tyrion (The Imp) - he's almost the main character.

I'm really glad the show is doing well! It's filmed in Northern Ireland! :D

Re: Game of Thrones

Blueone, have you read all the books? I saw some shifty reviews about the 4th one?

blueone 05-13-2011 11:31 PM

Re: Game of Thrones

Yep, read them all.

The 4th one gets some flak because it's actually only half of a book, the other half being the one coming out this Summer. It's still 1000+ pages long, but only tells the story of half the characters - the other half of the characters will get their story told in the upcoming book. Arguably, the more interesting characters are in the new one.

I will be reading it because I am now hooked.

Re: Game of Thrones

Yeah, it's still an excellent book, and you'd be mad to pass it up. It just means you'll have to wait for the 5th book for a lot of things to be resolved from the 3rd book. :)

Re: Game of Thrones

How many books does he plan on writing? It looks like the 5th one, A Dance with Dragons will be coming out this July. http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...k211/t0231.gif
