An interesting young gentleman gave me a gift last night. I was so fascinated with this new book that I didn't really participate at my own party. Who would know that a book of poetry got my attention in such a crazy way! I think I am falling in love with a very dead poet.:confused

The complete works of Arthur Rimbaud including a Season in Hell. Translated by Paul Schmidt.

Let me know how you like this. I have it, but after the hard time I had with Cholera, I never even read the first pg of it.

Just finished this and I really liked it. It took me forever to read, though that was more from me not being in the mood to do a lot of reading and was no fault of the book's. I'd recommend it.

Now reading:

One of my absolute favorite graphic novels.

I caved and decided to just go ahead and read Lord of the Rings. I'm over 200 pages in and it's just now getting to the Council at Rivendell.

That looks really interesting.

Re: Lord of the Rings - I had to give up somewhere in the middle of The Two Towers. I just couldn't take it anymore. My husband reads the entire series over and over again. I don't know how he does it.

I really enjoyed The Hobbit though.

The Hobbit is fantastic and fun and quick.
I dunno why Lord of the Rings is seeming so much slower for me. I assume that I'm just soooo used to the films and the pace they set.

i felt the same way before the films existed.

it was like "oh, this is boring, i'll just skip past this descriptive crap" then "oh damn... somewhere in that boring detailed description of the leaves on the trees was a bunch of orcs hiding and i missed them"

I need a new book to read, gimme suggestions. I prefer historically accurate non-fiction, but maybe a good fantasy would do me good.

For historically accurate non-fiction, check out The Devil In The White City. Way and I both read it this summer and it was great.
