Thanks Dowd, I've added the pic to the top of the thread.

Encore ended up being Come Pick Me Up only.

When The Summer Ends and If I Could Change Your Mind were both from the upcoming 1984 7" and sounded like the Replacements. Kick ass.

The other new songs all sounded real good too, Political Scientist was awesome, and the Ashes and Fire tunes blew me away in their rocked out state. So pumped for this new album.

Friend said the show was very good, very loud. He said the stuff from 1984 was really short (makes sense since there are 10 songs on a 7"!) but really good. He didn't recognize anyone in the band or catch their names.

Political Scientist is not a tune I recall him playing live very often.

Ryan intro'd it by saying they had never played it live before. If he has, I've never seen a recording of it

Sounds awesome. I can't believe he wouldn't have introduced the band.

Me neither, and I guess Ryan would know. Nice to see him dusting off some neglected gems from his back catalogue.

Tonight was great. Lots of new groovy and rare tunes. Beautiful lyrics and melodies. The arrangements and jams....all very sweet. New band has good vibes and seem to be having lots of fun exploring with Ryan. Some very powerful and psychedelic moments. Peaceful Valley was stellar. 1984 stuff rocked. Fun. : ) The new tunes are sweet.

Re: State Theatre, Portland ME (22nd July, 2014)

I've heard it described as pretty early 90s rock-ish... Lemonheads, Matthew Sweet, Replacements-like sound. Even slower songs were loud and fast.
