one of my favorite recent books - hunger makes me a modern girl by carrie brownstein is being reworked for hulu

Carrie Brownstein, currently wrapping IFC veteran Portlandia, is looking to Hulu for her next foray.

The actress, singer, author, comedian and musician is poised to adapt her best-selling memoir, Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl, as a half-hour Hulu pilot called Search and Destroy.

Produced by Annapurna Television, the comedy is loosely inspired by her memoir as well as her experiences as a young musician growing up in the Pacific Northwest during the underground feminist punk-rock movement in the 1990s. The pilot is about a young woman, a band and a community learning how to be unafraid of their own noise.

In the distant future, human consciousness can be digitized and downloaded into different bodies. Brought back to life after 250 years by Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy) the richest man on Earth, ex-Envoy soldier Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman / Will Yun Lee) must solve Bancroft's attempted murder for the chance to live again in a world he doesn't recognize.

Altered Carbon debuts exclusively on Netflix February 2nd, 2018.

The End Of The Fucking World on Netflix is really good - 8 episodes about 25 mins each, so I just binged the whole lot in an evening.

I also have season 2 of Dirk Gently on my list to watch.

Have recently started re-watching Twin Peaks right from the beginning, going through the original blu-ray set and watching all of the special features as I go, then will watch Fire Walk With Me and the Missing Pieces, then straight onto the recent Twin Peaks the Return series.

that first one is about a serial kiler - right?

also - always been curious to check out twin peaks but never really known how to approach it - the show then the movie or the movie then the show?

Hated in the Nation from Season 3 is wonderful. Kelly MacDonald stars. It's film length, too.

Pumped for season 2. Just finished Handmaid's Tale. It lives up to the hype. Have you watched Ozark? Essentially Breaking Bad but still really good.

LOVE ozark - its great to see bateman in a complicated/darker role

one of the small details i really loved were all of the icons in the logo at the start of every episode - really well done series and definitely looking forward to more

the blair witch project is being developed as a tv show

also - waiting - the movie about ... uh ... waiting tables is also getting the tv treatment

the former could be great - the latter seems like it waited too long and already happened with two broke girls

I just discovered one mississippi and fell in love with it. I hope it gets picked up somewhere else, but Tig seemed pretty final about it in an interview
