Yes! We have watched 7 episodes in the last 2 days. Very exciting and well executed show.

Agreed. I'm up to episode 5. I remember reading the original book back in high school. This is a really inventive adaption. It makes enormous changes to Jackson's novel but somehow still manages to capture the essence of it.

The first one is the best horror movie of all time. The 2nd one is great, too.

After that, they get progressively worse and not worth the time, IMO.

I really enjoyed the Haunting of Hill House. Also, it had one of the best, most shocking jump scares I’ve ever seen.

Spoiler:
Itís in episode 8, I believe, when the two sisters are arguing in the car. Up to that point, jump scares hadnít really been used much in the show, so it was completely unexpected. I felt pretty safe in that moment that nothing supernatural was going to happen, so thatís why I think it was such a good scare. My wife and I both jumped practically out of our seats.

Halloween Original, though I feel like it is difficult to capture what it felt like to see it in 1978 (not that I saw it in 1978 or anything. just knowing the types of movies that come out these days, they're pretty beyond anything that came out 40 years ago); and I guess Halloween 2 if you just want the full night's worth of events. But Halloween original is classic and everyone should see it. I watch it every year on Halloween. This year I live in a town with an old school movie theater, and they have been playing it on the big screen every night for the past week, so I saw it over the weekend.

Halloween 4 honestly creeped me out when I was a kid. I was 13 and woke up randomly in the middle of the night and turned on the TV and it was like, 1/4 of the way through so I watched it. It just really freaked me out, so it has a special place in my heart.

I never gave Halloween 3 the time of day because I was shocked by the lack of Michael Myers, but I have heard it's a good stand alone film.

Halloween H20 was alright. Everything else is pretty trash.

The new one was very good in my opinion. It does away with any story line that came after the original, including the story line that was developed in Halloween 2. As with most slasher movies, there were predictable parts, though several of them were direct homages to past Halloween films so they were fun for me, whereas they seemed to really piss off several people for some reason.

I just finished Haunting of Hill House. I never read the book, but I really enjoyed the episodes and felt pretty on edge through the whole series, but the finale was a little bit of a let down for me.

I'll have to watch it now, considering The Burbs is one of my all time favorite films.
