Listened to the first half of this thing last night and I'm already down waaaaaaay more with it than I ever was with Single Mothers. Dude's gotta bail on the motown, ballad-y band sound, I think. It just runs his songs down into a pit of samey boring, for me.

Hm, I'm not getting into it that much so far. But Single Mothers took me a while to sink in too.

So if you throw Absent Fathers on in the car and drive around, it really works.
Also helps if you have slight daddy issues, too... *thumbs up* |

Caught his show in Glasgow on Saturday. Duo show with the wonderful Paul Niehaus on pedal steel / electric. Justin's guitar tuning was playing up a bit, as was his voice at times, but on the whole a pretty good gig.
Don't suppose anyone else was there/can recall a rough setlist? |
