The zombie film that started it all.....Romero's classic from 1968 Night of the Living Dead. The horror might be tame by today's standards, but the social satire is still sharp and relevant. Incredible to think how many of today's classic horror tropes were inspired by this low-budget film.

Still on the horror genre.....the much loved Sleepaway Camp from 1983. In some ways its a run-of-the-mill cheapo slasher, with all the characteristic bad acting, lurid death scenes and silly plot. But there's just something so quirky and weird about Sleepaway......and then of course there's the infamous final scene. Once watched, never forgotten.
