Re: Bob Mould - Sunshine Rock (Feb. 8)
Love all Bob du (apologies), but, in saying this, I've found his albums post Life and Times (which I love) to be increasingly samey. Definitely a number of corkers (The War and You Say You come to mind) I return to from them, no doubt, but I've always been a fan of his heavier, more experimental (by his standards) stuff, than his Sugar-sounding poppy stuff. I just find the songwriting a bit stale, and that everthing started running together. I love the most recent single from Sunshine Rock, but I may wait a bit before dropping my cash on this one.

Re: Bob Mould - Sunshine Rock (Feb. 8)
Agreed, but I'm a Bob fan-boy for life.
It's good - I'd say much better than Patch The Sky. And, it plays from top to bottom better than the last 3. Comparable to Beauty and Ruin. Down, your assessment will hold true here, but worth some spins. Bob Du - from Metal Circus, Zen, New Day, and Flip Your Wig are untouchable. https://www.pastemagazine.com/articl...pgoMgdwyJpOW1k |
