I'm very excited but still in a little bit of shock... This is SO out of character for me. It was a good influence, but definitely my boyfriend's influence! We've already got the flights booked and tickets lined up at face value. Just gotta book hotels now. It's going to be a whirlwind trip and I have to call in sick those days but... aaaaaah!!!!!

is it bad that we are 28 and 33 and we are both lying to our parents about the trip in one way or another?

No, I'm 33. I've been married for 12 years, and occasionally we still have to make up stuff to appease my parents. Besides, "16 Days," "Avenues," and "Houses on the Hill" - it's totally worth it!

Re: Academy - Glasgow, UK (June 25, 2011)

For anyone going to Glasgow, Jesse Malin will be playing in Brel http://www.brelbarrestaurant.com/ on Friday night for 10. Brel is a tiny bar in a really lovely, pretty street in the West End of Glasgow, near the University. Seeing Jesse (and possibly Ryan) aside, the Ashton Lane area is well worth a trip if you're visiting Glasgow!

Re: Academy - Glasgow, UK (June 25, 2011)

B, I don't know whereabouts you are in Ireland buy maybe Rail and Sail is an option too? There's sailings from Belfast - Stranraer with a direct rail connection to Glasgow three times a day, forward and back. Check the website, it might be helpful!
http://www.stenaline.co.uk/ferry/rou...ast-stranraer/

Also, be sure to check easyjet for flights and as well as Glasgow International Airport, Glasgow Prestwick is only about 40mins outside the city and there's a rail link from airport-city all the time so it's an option too!!

Also, I know there isn't a snowball's chance in hell of this song being played.. but still, it's definitely one of my favourite WT song! So much fun and good humour!

At the airport.... Plath, I a, staying smack in the centre of Dublin...I'd have to travel to Belfast...is it prudent to take the child north right now?

Re: Academy - Glasgow, UK (June 25, 2011)

Lol don't believe the media my dear! The North is as safe as houses, really. I live in the North! All that rioting and trouble is just in little pockets of Belfast - I'm actually heading up there tonight for a night out!

Not a big deal

Glad you got sorted with flights! I just suggested the boat because it's a very popular way of getting to Glasgow. I went to Uni in Glasgow for a year so know the route well! The train from Dub-Belfast takes about 2hrs so it's not a huge travel in the grand scheme of things!

Hope to see you on Saturday!!
