Re: "New Album" thread

Torben compiled a bunch of samples from what now seems will become an unreleased album.

tbh most of it does sound pretty pedestrian upon re-listening to it in a compilation like this- except that shit at 3:50

Benmont Tench hanging out at Pax AM today (or recently). That's a big plus.

And now Ryan tweets the music "we've" been recording this week is most like Heartbreaker and Gold. I love it, hope we hear this someday.

I can't believe him when he compares new tunes to older material. I'll never forget how burned I felt when I first listened to III/IV after he had been comparing it to Cold Roses for so long.

I remember him saying some song (forget which one) on Cardinology sounded like it could fit right in on Blood On The Tracks. Well, I think we all know there are few redeeming moments on that album, and none even close to Blood On The Tracks quality. Ever since then, I've learned to temper the enthusiasm for his "latest masterpiece" or whatever he is touting it as at the time.

that's good i'm glad u enjoy!
hopefully some of it is cannibalized into the new music...whatever and whenever that is.
it's interesting that he's brought Benmont in - instead of using Mahoney.
that would seem to indicate some seriousness on current recordings...
or maybe just good weed.
