Well, this was creepy. Could have been a little longer though. Love that it's B&W.

The trailer is [pretty impressive.

Also, does anyone subscribe to horror streaming service Shudder? Its not available in Australia as yet, but it seems to have a pretty big catalogue.

Re: Horror Film Discussion & Recommendations

That looks intriguing.

After complaining for years about how horror was stuck in a pattern of uninspired remakes and Saw rip-offs, I must say there has been a real change for the better over the last couple of years. Finally some imaginative and original films are not only being made, but also being appreciated by an increasingly mainstream audience.

I was talking to a friend today about this very subject. We are at a good time. It really makes me happy.

Re: Horror Film Discussion & Recommendations

That looks really good.

I dunno though I think we've been in a good age of horror for awhile. There has always been an overload of bad shit. More so than other genres unfortunately. However I don't think good or unique or fresh horror films have disappeared. I think it's a common misconception about horror. But maybe that's just me. I will say films like it follows, the babadook and get out are a good reminder to how intelligent metaphors in horror can be.

Re: Horror Film Discussion & Recommendations

I'd add The Cabin in the Woods, The Seasoning House, The Guest, Bone Tomahawk, Goodnight Mommy & Banshee Chapter to that list.

They have always been around but you had to dig for them. More mainstream horror has been good lately.

Maybe idk

Some stuff is buried deep like the wicksboro incident. One of the best if not the best found footage film.

I watched this one about 10 years ago. I don't think it's on DVD or BD yet. And you can't rent or buy it on iTunes either.

Re: Horror Film Discussion & Recommendations

Weird that there's been a bazillion found footage movies about the Phoenix lights.

Phoenix tapes '97 and the Phoenix incident both have their merits but maybe the one coming out this year will be solid.
