Ha, not to rub salt into your wounds Izzy, but I just read that RA was much more focused (ie: had stopped fiddling around with this guitar endlessly) tonight compared to your show. He also came out for the encore wearing a hooded cape. Not sure if that's a plus or a minus.

From what I've read he fiddled around with his guitar a lot in the first show and seemed pretty distracted. Apparently tonight he was really on his game.

I'm still convinced that my request for Jacksonville Skyline was heard. It's appeared once on the tour and it was the day after I requested it

Re: Barbican - London, UK (June 20, 2011)

It was a good gig. Ryan was re tuning his guitar quite a bit, but made light of it by saying that if people in the crowd didn't understand guitars, they probably think its a really fucked up instrumental he's playing every night. Highlights for me were the two Love Is Hell songs and Stop.

Re: Barbican - London, UK (June 20, 2011)

It was a very good show. Ryan was funny and focused most of the time. He made a joke about taking pictures at the end but it was good natured. I didn't see many iPhones in evidence. The worst song was probably New York New York on piano - but that could be me. And "Stop" was probably the best song of the night.

Jesse Malin was fantastic. I was so pleased to have got to see him live.

I took my son. He thought Ryan was batshit crazy but a great musician.
