Better Oblivion Community Centre - S/T (Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers)

Album out now on streaming services etc. Kinda came out of nowhere.

I haven't listened to it yet but have pre-ordered the vinyl (out Feb 22). The song they performed on Colbert is fantastic so I'm really looking forward to hearing the whole thing.

Pretty good tune. And I notice the lead guitar player is from Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Yeah it is - he and Conor have been friends for years, he also played on the Bright Eyes Digital Ash album.

I listened to it yesterday and this morning. It's alright but my least favorite thing Bridgers has done so far.

I liked Conor's last record, but I find Phoebe a bit difficult to take serious.

Preordered the LP as I'm a Conor fan but really would have preferred a new solo LP.
Don't think fans of either artist are overly happy.

Iím a HUGE Conor fan (perhaps even over Ryan) and I love it. Hadnít even listened to Bridgers before this but I really enjoy what she brings to it. I always loved the Bright Eyes songs where he was singing with a female accompaniment. Also, whatever he does to keep himself interested is good with me, heís an artist who Iím sure will be making albums for years to come so I donít care that itís not a solo album.

BIG all-things-Conor fan, and 70% Phoebe fan here. It's just OK, and I regret pre-ordering the CD. Damn you, hype!

It's nowhere near my favorite thing Conor has done, but it is still enjoyable.
Service Road & Chesapeake are the standout tracks to me.

If he was only putting out one record every 3 years or so I'd much prefer it be a solo or bright eyes record, but he puts out enough music via all his different avenues and at a fast enough pace that I don't mind all the variations.

Chesapeake is prob my fav track on the album. I dig most of it, though there are a couple tracks I skip.

Glad to hear it.
It's okay but as I say I would have preferred a solo album, obviously one will be along in due course. Not big into Phoebe (saw her supporting Conor once and she joined him on a few songs) and this is fine but I think people blew it out of proportion a bit.
Also liked when female singers joined on Bright Eyes songs but she's no Emmylou to be fair.
If youre having fun fire away of course and best of luck to you

Did anyone else preorder this, only to have it backordered?
