Something was clearly wrong. I made two attempts and it would just keep searching for tickets. Then I logged out and tried again and got my seat. Seems like pairing tickets was more of a problem.

I really hope he doesn't end these shows with Come Pick Me Up. I'm sick of that song now.

I don't really look at the in-store appearances as a good indication of what he will be playing. But he did close the Apollo show with that song. So... we may be in for another tour with that as a closer.

Lol. My husband HATES that song. One day I was cleaning and had my music on random and since I probably have 8 different versions of that in my music, he heard it over and over and over. He's brutal when it comes on!

I checked. I have 14 versions in my music. heh heh.

My brothers wife got them for us. 4 total tickets. She was in right when they went on sale and we're way up at the top of the balcony.

Per the State Theater, the Portland show is sold out. That escalated quickly. Damn.

I remember when I first saw him in 2007 - I really wanted to hear CPMU, and obviously lots of other people did too because there were lots of people yelling out for it (bad move). Eventually he snapped and said "I'm not playing it - I would rather put a gun in my mouth and pull the trigger than ever have that person come pick me up again". Sure enough in true Ryan fashion he ended up playing it about 3 shows later.

He certainly seems to be happy to just give the people what they want these days. There's something to be said for having crowd-pleasers in the set, but I really wish he did mix it up a bit more. I just don't get it - surely that would make it more interesting for him as well.

Re: North American Tour

I actually think the song works really well as a closer. It no longer really has the same heaviness that it once did. When he closes with it, and everyone's singing along screaming "STEAL MY RECORDS, SCREW ALL MY FRIENDS" it isn't a sad song anymore. It's like closing time at a bar. Like "remember back when we were all sad and shit?"
