Re: Movie Recommendations

Killing Of A Sacred Deer is indeed sensational. It's a full blown Greek tragedy having a terrible nightmare, and it is as frightening as it is unique. I think it's the most accomplished film Lanthimos has made so far.

just watched okja - damn! if id known how much i was gonna love it i wouldve watched it a helluva lot sooner - its one of those rare films that combines so many different genres [action/comedy/drama] without becoming muddled or overcomplicated - the political/social commentary was interesting as well

highly recommended!

Re: Movie Recommendations

Lot of Wind River love 'round here. I LOVED Hell or High Water, so my expectations were high, but for me it was kinda a let down. Found it a bit underdeveloped, like if they'd spent more time fleshing it out some more it could have been great. As it stands, it ticks a lot of the current "greatest hits" boxes that the people love - dark, gritty, downbeat, etc, but it was missing that special something, for me.

Hope all you dudes are seeing the last Jedi tonight

It’s unreal how incredible is. I feel like the people who thought TFA didn’t have enough of the Star Wars feel will like this one a lot because it feels straight out of 70s.

I read review saying it was a character study and that was pretty spot on.

Re: Movie Recommendations

Loved Three Billboards. There isn't a weak link in the cast, but both McDormand and Rockwell in particular are standouts. I don't think I've ever seen a better performance from Rockwell. It's such a brilliant script too - there are layers of complexity and ambiguity to all the central characters that just ring true.

Re: Movie Recommendations

I went to Three Billboards yesterday, best film Iíve seen in a while - I see itís deservedly been cleaning up at the Golden Globes.

Also saw The Disaster Artist yesterday, good watch, such a good story and so intriguing as to what Tommyís history actually is.
