Great show! He was hilarious, and his voice sounded the best I've ever heard it live. It was worth everyone at school thinking I was crazy for driving 10 1/2 hours today. I haven't slept in a long time, so I'm not going to attempt a setlist. But the highlights for me were an amazing version of "If I Am a Stranger," "English Girls Approximately," the intro to "Let It Ride," which he said was a reimagining of the Lord of the Rings with Rednecks instead of hobbits, "16 Days," and the slow version of "New York, New York." His encore was "Round and Round" - complete with his improvised pretend electric guitar solo, which consisted of him making noises to fill in the gaps.

Re: Philadelphia, PA (Dec 2)

I thought the show was okay but was dissapointed he stayed on the right side of the stage for pretty much all the show... If you were sitting on the right side you couldnt even see him. Cant do nothin now i guess... = /

Re: Philadelphia, PA (Dec 2)

Sounds like it was a fine show. I guess I'm a little disappointed he isn't mixing up the set lists. I know people will say I'm being too picky here but he's been playing the same kinds of sets since June. The last show in Denmark showed he has the ability to play other songs (Blue Sky Blues, Afraid Not Scared) so I just wonder why he's playing it so safe?

He's being such a nazi with venues.. no photos, no drinks, no taping.. shouldn't he be using that environment to his advantage then? Being experimental, pushing himself? It's repetition like this that makes me feel he doesn't really care for his back catalogue or the kind of music he makes, in general. I dunno... we'll see how the rest of the tour goes!

Re: Philadelphia, PA (Dec 2)

thought this was a great show but the crowd was terrible, lots of people yelling out dumb shit. one dude yelled out "play a rick ross song" another yelled out freebird. ryan had a pretty good sense of humor about it all and didn't take the bait as far as letting the audience upset him.

played for two full hours, heard lots of songs i wanted to hear, wish he would've played "chin up cheer up."

also, there was a cool gig poster for the show but i didnt see it until after i left the venue

Re: Philadelphia, PA (Dec 2)

I will admit to being nervous about the idiots in the crowd, but I thought Ryan was good about it. Cracked me up when he responded "I like RA's music because it makes me understand my feelings." I didn't have a problem with the setlist. I think he should play what he wants to play. I really wanted to take a picture, but I didn't because I was thinking about how I somehow feel entitled to do whatever I feel like at a concert, but if I was at an art exhibit and the artist requested that people not photograph, I wouldn't even consider it or think the person was being unreasonable.

Re: Philadelphia, PA (Dec 2)

I thought it was an awesome show and Ryan was in great spirits. Definitely did not expect a Ratt cover as an encore.
