Re: Video Games

I haven't played a PS2, so I may not be much help. Are there any sports he's into? I'm looking on the Wikipedia list of PS2 games (it's a LONG list), and a sports one may be a decent and safe choice.

Re: Video Games

Well, they have rugby games -- Rugby '06 is made by EA Sports, and they're one of the better sports video game developers out there. So that might be a good choice.

That was one of the few I've ever heard of, but I didn't know if it was any good or not. I'll put it on the list, ta.

Re: Video Games

I don't like to say this - but if my son is anything to go by kids start off with the nice sports/skateboard games and then quickly move on the blood and violence. Then get bored with the lot of them and move on to RPGs on computer. But at 13 I think Tony Hawkes is a great idea - my son loved those and he's never skated in his life - also the Snowboarding ones are fun.

Sounds good And I'm sure he will end up sneaking about watching really violent games before too long - his parents keep him on too short a leash anyhow I think.

Re: Video Games

You know what I miss? point and click adventures. Like Willy Beamish and the first couple of Monkey islands. Playstation 1 had a ton of them and most of them were great. I dont even think they make games like that anymore. Boo to that! I say.

The Nintendo DS has quite a few games like those. Extremely difficult indeed!

Re: Video Games

I would have to recommend Guitar Hero to anyone who likes video games and loves music! I got a PS2 soley for the purpose of playing Guitar Hero II, and it really is the most fun I've had playing a video game. I do play guitar for real, but I don't think you need to be a guitar player to enjoy that game. Just a fan of music.

How did you find the vehicle sections in Call of Duty 3 (I think you said you've played this)?
