Re: Dissing Ryan Adams: An Emerging Songwriting Genre

His posts the last few days - since coming back - still seem manic.

I hope he's well, but I don't think that's the case.

Mandy has always been offputting to me. She's really pretty, but Ryan wasn't the only narcissist in the relationship. She seems to be doing ok though. Just very fake to me.

Well, I defended him for a good 24 hours, but he took my argument away.

Yes, I was hoping he was doing better when he came back...but I don’t think so either. I hope he finds peace/gets whatever help he needs. Then getting tagged by Perez with that Mandy article didn’t help things any.

You hit the nail on the head though. I get the same feeling about her. She seems nice, pretty etc...but she also seems a little self absorbed. That’s what I was getting at earlier, if you see these interviews where she talks about her marriage it seems obvious to me.

Just saw his last tweet too. Yeesh, he is really giving the media all the fodder they could ask for. 😬

Where's his agent? Where's his manager? Who does he report to? The man isn't well and someone in his life should be addressing it. It's just sad.

He doesn't need his agent or manager; he needs a friend.

I won't argue that someone he truly cares about should be involved - I'm also not privy to what his social life is like. Who are his friends? I have no idea and that's not for me to know.

But he definitely pays people to help manage the business side of Ryan Adams. And those people should be on this.

He clearly has shit that needs to get sorted. And its much deeper than a couple of breakups.

Re: Dissing Ryan Adams: An Emerging Songwriting Genre

yeah you can tell he’s suffering and it’s super sad.

I’m diagnosed bipolar II and can at the least get a vibe of what he’s feeling. shit like this can be a beast so Im empathetic in that regard. he needs to take the energy he’s putting into reading clickbait bullshit articles and sending mindless tweets into getting healthy and controlling what he can control.

Pete Davidson last week on SnL said of Kanye “Being mentally ill isn’t an excuse to be an asshole”. I think prior to a year ago I wouldn’t have agreed but after working through some of this in my own life, it makes total sense to me and applies 100% to Ryan.

Does he report to anyone? I thought half the point of having Pax-Am was that he didn't have to and everything was by him, for him, no one else involved.

He does seem to need a friend though. I'm not sure who he has other than the band and whatever girlfriend he has at the time. Hopefully there are people we don't know about that can help him through this

Re: Dissing Ryan Adams: An Emerging Songwriting Genre

He has people who are responsible for managing his business (booking tours, working out distribution contracts, securing Studio time, filing his taxes, managing his properties, etc.). And his business is in trouble if he can’t get himself together.

I’m not saying he doesn’t need a friend, you’d just think the people who get paid handsomely to ensure the Ryan Adams business can continue would feel the need to prevent this from occuromg so publicly.

I don't know if anyone can speak to the ins/outs of his life with authority (no one has, I'm just saying we are in baseless speculation territory), I hope hes got some real deal friends who are there for him.

are you following this at all?

dude’s clearly in a bad place, like beyond just typical ryan being a dick territory. way way beyond that this time. clearly having some mental health issues, so calling it “an act” is a bad look.

Re: Dissing Ryan Adams: An Emerging Songwriting Genre

I know his Facebook page is run by someone else, but that seems to be the extent of his PR team. Although, he made a couple more posts now explaining himself so I wonder if that was at the suggestion of PR, or if he is just coming back to grips with things now. Hopefully a little of both.

His responses are bed shitters. I wish he wouldn't do that.

That said, I feel zero need to take Mandy's side (or any side for that matter). I'm not seeing any starring roles or great records from her coming down the pipeline. As the "more composed" of the two, why does she need to comment on her failed marriage to the media at all right now? It's well over a year after the fact. She's someone who needs her name in print... worse than Ryan really. His lame responses only fuel her story and give her more media attention that their breakup deserves.

Both of them can STFU unless they've got some new material.

You know she's got a starring role on one of the biggest shows on TV right now?
