Re: The Electric Guitar Player Thread

I saw a few in action at the PRF BBQ fest in Chicago. Noisy ass room and noisy ass settings. I loved it, but want to hear their other sounds too.

I've seen Shellac and Jesus Lizard with Travis Beans and wild sounds. My Kramer has an aluminum neck (with wood inlays for a more traditional feel). The thing really does ring for days even w/o the neck thru design. I just love it.

Re: The Electric Guitar Player Thread

I want to get a new amp. I have Orange micro terror going through at 1X12 celestion, which is fine, but I'd like more tone options.

I want some good cleans for more of an acoustic style singer/songwriter electric gig... those I'd love a great overdrive channel too.

Anyone try these out and have an opinion?

Spoiler:

Four channels (2 clean/2 overdrive) with alot of settings (classic/modern switches, etc). Sounds tempting. It's not cheap and I've seen a few less than stellar reviews, but most are pretty glowing.

I have been watching gear demos lately which is probably not that useful, but I've liked the esthetic of these more than the brit sounds and some of the fender sounds.

Re: The Electric Guitar Player Thread

Just scored an aluminum neck bass for $200. Needs work and has some cosmetic issues. It will be a good player (good neck), but not a big collectors item.

Re: The Electric Guitar Player Thread

I'm too lazy to plug in so 95% of the time I play my D-28p. But I have a Partscaster Strat that I built. Custom ordered every component. And recently I purchased a Korean Hamer Echotone. Great guitar. Even when I grab an electric guitar, I don't usually plug it in. I use the models in Garageband more than my actual amp these days.

I've got a big fucking tele problem man. Haha. The vedder one was my first Partcaster. I'll post some pics later. But yea man , for me. The tele is where it's at. The bees fucking knees. I need a Nocaster, love those thick maple necks. I just read that fender is putting out a rosewood Baja tele. Those jerk offs get me every time.

Nice stash BFT. I have a reissue 72 Tele Deluxe with the big neck and wide range PUPS.

I love it, but my main axe is a Kramer DMZ 2000 with a metal neck.

I do like the WRHB but it is a tad muddy. Would luv an original WRHB. But theresva guy over at TDPRI that makes these reproductions. Might consider on of them. Adams has me looking at those Princeton reverbs now. Been checking out jazzmasters and jaguars. That johnny marr one that ewok was talking a out looks sick. I likie

Re: The Electric Guitar Player Thread

While I do love tube amps, I'm probably gonna pick up this Fender Ultimate Chorus from a guy in town.

It's Solid State, but has a great loud clean sound. It's low rent version of a Twin meets a Roland JC. I'd use my own overdrives/distortions though... it's dirty channel isn't great.

I did play through a Princeton a couple of weeks ago. It was nice.

I've just got my old Mexican Standard - great guitar though. Will add a few more when I got some cash...

I may be wrong but i think the new rosewood Bajas have skinnier necks than the original Bajas. Just a heads-up if you like 'em fat...

Yea I just did the research and found that disappointing. These fuckers. They shouldn't have called it the 60''s Baja. To me and a million other people, th Baja is a baja because of the neck itself. Most people rip the s-1 right out. I love the pickups, wish the would sell the broadcaster as a single pup. Why can't the get it through their heads that people want a fat rosewood neck don't get me wrong, the 60's baja looks cool, and their going for a slash 60's and modern spec thing. But c'mon, how badass would this little slut have been if she had a fat neck to choke?

Nice... I'm afraid to ask how much. There's some aluminum neck Kramer lefties on gbase right now... they look like great ones too. Though you'll probably need a chiropractor if you gig regularly with them!

Most of the 70s tele originals have been listed for that or more...

I'd love to see wok strap this one on...

For the flagship american Kramer, it seems like a fair price.

I don't know what it is, but I just can never take those things seriously.
I'm sure they're fine instruments, but they look like something out of a macramé-ridden guidance counselor's office in 1977.

Here's another... you'll think your Les Paul is anemic after you play it.

Still, they're odd balls... not classic Fender or Gibsons, but also not not modern shredders.

Gonna have a guitar built over the summer! I got in on this. 20 made... for the first batch. I'll probably go Strat body... pretty traditional but with a piezo bridge. We'll see....
