there's a reason Keef's most beloved Tele has a Gibson PAF in the neck.

Re: The Electric Guitar Player Thread

For sure. I haven't spent alot of time with true teles to know how those little metal neck pickups sound.

For my TeleDeluxe. I do all the cleans with both pickups on and dirt with the bridge. The neck alone doesn't get the woodiness that a good strat or Les Paul gets.

Re: The Electric Guitar Player Thread

That vibroverb. Such a great amp. Would like to mess with this one.

I've had too many things I don't play anyway. Here's what's left:
63RI-335
56RI-LP Goldtop
62RI-Tele
Bluesking
4003SW Rick

Vox AC4HW
5F6A Bassman Head custom made w/ 6V6S push/pull
5F1 that I built, but is now torn appart in pieces
5E3 that I still have to built since a year or so
Hiwatt higain 50 w/ custom 2x12" cab that is taking dust since the era from when I had a band.

Nice!

I've been buying amps, finding them to be shitty, and selling them back. It's been frustrating.

However, I just had a Phaez Duophonic built for me.

25W head, all tube. It's more like two amps... top input is a Marshall type clone. Bottom is a Fender like clean. No built in effects, but the loop is good.

It sounds great and the price is great for a hand wired amp.

The builder sells all over, but happens to live one neighbourhood away from me.

My main guitars are currently:
ē My parts stratocaster with a Bastin-built aluminum neck.
ē Kramer DMZ 2000
ē Fender TeleDeluxe reissue.

Re: The Electric Guitar Player Thread

Anyone played a YamahaTHR10? Looking for a new apartment amp. Any reccomendations from the TBY crowd? My new place is smaller and I hope to not be evicted : ) Currently playing an Ibanez Artcore AS73 and a VM Jazzmaster.

Re: The Electric Guitar Player Thread

Hi! I'm new to the forum. My main guitar is a Squier CV Custom Telecaster (One of the sunburst ones with the binding), but I also use a Gretsch Pro Jet or a Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster, and my amp of choice is an Ampeg GVT15 combo. They were seriously underrated when the were made.

Yeah it is. I tried both the '65 and the '68 and found I preferred this one, a bit warmer and breaks up a bit earlier (which since it's mostly for home use is good for me)

Re: The Electric Guitar Player Thread

Got this today. New strings and a clean up tonight as it's sat for 10 years. My friend said it's a 73 but I have to see if I can get a serial to confirm.

Re: The Electric Guitar Player Thread

Looking at new acoustic electrics and Iím torn between a few. Iíd like to get something with electronics already on board and will use it primarily for open mics and playing amplified.

Martin OOORS1, Martin DRS1 - canít decide between a dread and triple O for the Martins.

Yamaha LL16ARE (dark tint) - my first guitar ever is a Yamaha FG700S ($200, solid top). Seven years later itís my favorite guitar so I feel Iíd enjoy something all solid from them.

Also looking at comparable Guilds and would consider Epiphone masterbilts as well.

Any input from the TBY people?

Very nice! I have the DD3 & TR2 on my main board, just real solid, great-sounding workhorses. Why the 2 Hotcakes?

I have the two Hotcakes from before I had the Princeton, I had a Fender Ď59 Bassman and I donít know if youíre familiar with that amp but itís got so much headroom that even at really loud volume itís still pretty much clean. So I used one Hotcake with only a small amount of drive for that just starting to break up sound and the second for my fully overdriven tone. I had that amp for 17 years and only just changed to the Princeton 6 months ago so yet to decide if I want to keep both hotcakes. I might get rid of one once I figure out what pedal Iíd like to take its place on the board.

Ha, yeah Bassman > Princeton is quite a switch. No doubt your back is thanking you for it. And your neighbours...
